Swept Away is a studio album by jazz musicians Marc Johnson (double bass) and Eliane Elias (piano), together with additional musicians Joey Baron (drums) and Joe Lovano (tenor saxophone). The record was released on September 7, 2012 via ECM Records label.

Review

On Swept Away Johnson and Elias commune over music that is engaging and sensual, lyrical and swinging. Brazilian-born Elias previously joined ECM veterans Baron and Lovano on Johnson’s album Shades of Jade (2005), which reaped praise far and wide. The New York Times enthused over the “luminescence” created by the close partnership between Elias and Johnson, while The Village Voice said the album was “shimmering” yet its “lusciousness has all sorts of tensile strength.” The same words suit Swept Away, which includes a brace of melody-rich Elias compositions, ranging from the easy-flowing title track to the smoky romanticism of «B Is for Butterfly» and after-hours atmosphere of «It's Time». Johnson’s brightly grooving, Eastern-tinged «When The Sun Comes Up» is another highlight, and the album closes with Johnson’s solo bass treatment of the old American folk song «Shenandoah». Swept Away comprises music of depth that is disarmingly easy to love.

I Shouldn't Be Alive

I Shouldn't Be Alive was a documentary television series that aired on multiple networks in the United States, Canada, the UK, the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, India, Iran, Pakistan, South Africa and the Philippines. I Shouldn't Be Alive was made by Darlow Smithson Productions, a UK-based production company.

The show featured accounts of individuals and groups caught in dangerous scenarios, presented both through interviews and dramatic reenactments. The main focus was how the survivors survived and the decisions they made that kept them alive.

Production

The series premiered on the Discovery Channel on October 28, 2005. Season 3 also airs in high definition on HD Theater. All episodes can now be seen in HD on DirecTV, Dish Network, or Verizon Fios. The show airs on Channel 7 in Australia and on Channel 4 in Britain.

On March 5, 2007, the Discovery Channel canceled the series and made it part of the "Discovery Classics" series. The show was broadcast on the Science Channel starting in early 2008. It was picked up in 2010 by Animal Planet and new episodes started to air along with the old.
