    Minor Passions characters

The following are minor but notable fictional characters on the NBC/DirecTV soap opera Passions whose connections to the four major families are either weak or non-existent.

    Norma Bates

For the character from the Psycho franchise, see Norma Bates (Psycho). Marianne Muellerleile (January 22, 2001 - August 5, 2008)

Norma Bates was introduced as the owner of a motel in 2001 that Tabitha Lenox and her companion, Timmy, fled to in order to escape the backlash from the release of Hidden Passions, a collection of Tabitha's memories that Timmy had compiled into a novel. Norma told Tabitha and Timmy that no one ever stopped at their hotel anymore, the reason for which the witch and doll later discovered — Norma was insane. She attempted to kill Tabitha with an axe while she showered, and the two later discovered that her father, with whom she had been conversing earlier, was dead — Norma had left his skeleton, dressed in his clothes, in a rocking chair. Timmy accidentally destroyed the skeleton, with only the skull surviving, and Norma swore to kill Timmy for hurting "Daddy". Tabitha and Timmy fled the motel.

Susana Guerra (born 24 January 1980), better known by her stage name Suzy, is a Portuguese singer. She represented Portugal in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark, with the song "Quero ser tua".

    Early life

Suzy was born in Figueira da Foz. From very early on she has shown great pleasure in singing, appearing for the first time on stage at only 5 years of age, at the Cineteatro Caras Direitas in Buarcos, a small village in the centre of Portugal.

During her childhood, she moved to Lisbon, having joined the group Onda Choc, a kids’ band of huge success in the 90s, which allowed her to perform in numerous shows and make several appearances on TV shows.

    Career

    1999–2010: Early career

At Christmas 1999, the song which gave her greater visibility was launched: Suzy performed with the famous Portuguese duet Anjos "Nesta Noite Branca" (this white evening), a huge success and still a mandatory song in the Christmas season, playing incessantly on different Portuguese radio stations. With this song, she made countless TV shows, together with Anjos.

    Suzy (film)

Suzy is a 1936 drama film starring Jean Harlow, Franchot Tone, and Cary Grant. The film was partially written by Dorothy Parker and directed by George Fitzmaurice, based on a novel by Herman Gorman. The Oscar-nominated theme song, "Did I Remember?", was sung by Virginia Verrill (uncredited).

    Plot

In 1914, American showgirl "Suzy" Trent (Jean Harlow) is in London, looking for romance and meets and marries Irish engineer and inventor Terry Moore (Franchot Tone). The couple stumble on a German plot and her husband is shot by Madame Diane Eyrelle (Benita Hume), a mysterious spy. Fearing she will be implicated in Terry's death, Suzy flees to Paris as World War I begins.

In the cabaret where she works, Suzy meets famed French ace Capt. Andre Charville (Cary Grant) who immediately falls in love with her. Their sudden marriage is not welcomed at first by his aristocratic father, Baron Edward Charville (Lewis Stone) but Suzy cares for him as her husband goes to the front. After he is wounded, Suzy goes to his side but finds Terry, who survived his shooting, is delivering new British fighters to Andre's squadron. She also learns that Andre has been unfaithful, and that German spy Diane Eyrelle has been caring for him. In a confrontation with the spy and her henchman, Andre is killed.
