Blender (software)

Blender is a professional free and open-source 3D computer graphics software product used for creating animated films, visual effects, art, 3D printed models, interactive 3D applications and video games. Blender's features include 3D modeling, UV unwrapping, texturing, raster graphics editing, rigging and skinning, fluid and smoke simulation, particle simulation, soft body simulation, sculpting, animating, match moving, camera tracking, rendering, video editing and compositing. Alongside the modeling features it also has an integrated game engine.

History

The Dutch animation studio Neo Geo developed Blender as an in-house application, with the primary author being software developer Ton Roosendaal. The name Blender was inspired by a song by Yello, from the album Baby. When Neo Geo was acquired by another company, Tod Roosendaal and Frank van Beek founded Not a Number Technologies (NaN) in June 1998 to further develop Blender, initially distributing it as shareware until NaN went bankrupt in 2002.

Suzanne (given name)

Suzanne is a common female given name that was particularly popular in the United States in the 1950s and 1960s. It remained in the top 200 most popular names in the United States between 1930 and the late 1980s. Form of the Hebrew name שׁוֹשַׁנָּה (Shoshannah). This was derived from the Hebrew word שׁוֹשָׁן (shoshan) meaning "lily" (in modern Hebrew this also means "rose"). However, it has also been regularly used in English speaking countries since before the start of the 20th century. It may also be spelled Susanne, and common diminutives are Sue and Suzy.

"Suzanne" (titled as "Susanna" for the English version) is a single by Dutch band VOF de Kunst also known as The Art Company, released in 1983.

The song reached number one on the Single Top 100 in the Netherlands.

Adriano Celentano version

In 1984, Adriano Celentano released the album I miei americani ("My Americans"), which consisted of Italian-language covers of mostly American hits, along with "Suzanne" by VOF de Kunst and "Michelle" by The Beatles.

Ricky Martin version

Ricky Martin recorded a Spanish-language version of "Suzanne", called "Susana". He included it on his debut solo album Ricky Martin, and released it as a single in 1992.

Grin (Grin album)

Grin is a 1971 album by Grin, featuring songs by their guitarist Nils Lofgren. As well as being an album in its own right, this was released by CBS in the UK as part of a 1976 double album set along with its successor 1+1. In 2005, it was issued on CD in remastered form, with the addition of two more tracks from the original sessions.

Grin (Coroner album)

Grin is the fifth studio album by the Swiss thrash metal band Coroner, and was followed by their self-titled compilation album, Coroner. It is the result of the progression of their sound from previous albums, mixed with a more "laidback" and experimental style which features a lot of repetition and longer song lengths, as well as use of ambience and samples in some tracks. The album split the band's fanbase - some thought it was their crowning achievement, and the pinnacle of their songwriting, while others accused them of "selling out". Grin was Coroner's final album before their fourteen year break up from 1996 to 2010, and is their final album to feature Marky Edelmann on drums.
