Escape from Atlantis

Escape from Atlantis is a board game that portrays the sinking of Atlantis and the attempts by the population to escape the sinking island. It was originally released in the USA under the title of Survive! and first published in the English language by Parker Brothers in 1982. Survive! was also marketed in Canada, Italy, Spain, and in many other countries.

In 1986, Waddingtons launched their three-dimensional version Escape from Atlantis in the UK with revised rules. Waddingtons also sold a bilingual (English/French) version of Escape from Atlantis in Canada. The game was sublicensed in 1987 and sold in Australia and New Zealand. Waddingtons also sublicensed Escape from Atlantis in Europe to Schmidt Spiele of Germany. The game sold in Europe in many languages including Finnish, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, French and German.

In 1996 Hasbro relaunched Escape from Atlantis in Europe under the Waddington's brand. This version of the game had rules which were further revised. The game was invented by Julian Courtland-Smith. Early copies of Escape from Atlantis include the name of the then co-copyright owner, C. Courtland-Smith.

Survive (Nuclear Assault album)

Survive is the second studio album by American thrash metal band Nuclear Assault, released in 1988 on vinyl, compact disc and cassette. As of 2012, the album has been out of print. Survive was the album that broke Nuclear Assault into the thrash metal mainstream, and was their first album to enter the Billboard 200, reaching number 145 on that chart. "Fight to Be Free" and the Led Zeppelin cover "Good Times Bad Times" were released as singles to promote the album.

Reception

Reviews for Survive have been mostly positive. AllMusic's John Franck awards the album three stars out of five and claims that Nuclear Assault had become "East Coast thrash metal contenders (to a throne pretty much owned by Anthrax) thanks to their politically charged metal fodder." For the album's music, Franck states, "shows progress, notching up some of the band's most accomplished, lyrically controversial material to date with the title track, 'Rise From the Ashes,' and the anti-mainstream media rant 'Brainwashed.'" Mike Exley of Metal Forces found Survive "a finely crafted excellent album, that shows the band enlarging their sound beyond the first few tentative progressive steps the band took on The Plague". He wrote that even though "Get Another Quarter" and "PSA" are of lower standard, "the rest of the album has variety and class stamped all over it".

Scope (mouthwash)

Scope is a brand of mouthwash made by Procter & Gamble. It was introduced in 1966, and for many years has been positioned in the marketplace as the purportedly better-tasting alternative to Listerine, the longtime dominant mouthwash product.

Originally available only in mint flavor, Scope is still currently available in original mint (green), but also in a peppermint (blue) & new Scope White. The Citrus Splash flavor was discontinued due to insufficient demand to meet the slightly higher cost of production. There is a new Scope Outlast and a new logo; the old logo on the scope mouthwash is still on sale in available stores. Scope also manufactures "Dual-Blast" mouthwash, which is claimed to remove odors such as garlic and onion from the mouth and throat.

On March 26, 2013 Scope introduced a viral video campaign for a bacon flavored mouthwash. It was intended as an April Fools' Day joke.

Scope (computer science)

In computer programming, the scope of a name binding – an association of a name to an entity, such as a variable – is the part of a computer program where the binding is valid: where the name can be used to refer to the entity. In other parts of the program the name may refer to a different entity (it may have a different binding), or to nothing at all (it may be unbound). The scope of a binding is also known as the visibility of an entity, particularly in older or more technical literature – this is from the perspective of the referenced entity, not the referencing name. A scope is a part of a program that is or can be the scope for a set of bindings – a precise definition is tricky (see below), but in casual use and in practice largely corresponds to a block, a function, or a file, depending on language and type of entity. The term "scope" is also used to refer to the set of all entities that are visible or names that are valid within a portion of the program or at a given point in a program, which is more correctly referred to as context or environment.
