Super J Cup

The Super J Cup is a professional wrestling tournament featuring junior heavyweight wrestlers from all over the world. The tournament was originally conceived by Japanese wrestler Jushin Thunder Liger as a showcase for promotions from Asia and North America, including Liger's home promotion New Japan Pro Wrestling (who hosted the first tournament in 1994), Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling, Wrestle Association R, Michinoku Pro Wrestling, Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre, and the Social Progress Wrestling Federation.

In the following years, wrestlers representing Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) and Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) would also participate in the tournament. After 1995, the tournament took a five-year hiatus before returning in 2000 (this time hosted by Michinoku Pro Wrestling).

Since that time, the tournament has only taken place twice (in 2004 and 2009). The original Super J Cup, held in 1994, is widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestling shows of all time. Dave Meltzer, editor of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, called the 1994 Super J Cup "the most incredible single night of wrestling ever".

Jeff Farmer (wrestler)

Jeff Farmer (born August 14, 1962) is an American retired professional wrestler. He is best known for his appearances with World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) as Sting (later The nWo Sting), an impostor version of the original Sting aligned to the New World Order stable.

Professional wrestling career

Early career

Farmer started wrestling in 1991 as Lightning in the tag team of "Thunder and Lightning" in the IWF promotion in Florida. In October 1991, he wrestled a match for Smoky Mountain Wrestling as the masked Black Scorpion. In 1993, Farmer wrestled a summer tour for All Japan Pro Wrestling.

World Championship Wrestling (1993–1994)

In 1993, Thunder and Lightning moved to World Championship Wrestling and had a small feud with Harlem Heat, whom they lost to at SuperBrawl IV. Farmer left WCW in the spring of 1994.

Independent circuit (1994–1995)

In July 1994, Farmer wrestled for the National Wrestling Alliance territories in Tennessee and the Carolinas. He would later join the Global Wrestling Federation in Dallas, Texas near the end of July. In February 1995, he and fellow former WCW wrestler Jim Steele wrestled a dark match for the World Wrestling Federation.
