Sunglasses at Night

"Sunglasses at Night" is a song by Canadian singer Corey Hart. It was released in January 1984 as the first single from his debut album, 1983's First Offense, and became a hit single in the United States, rising to number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in August 1984. The song is a staple of 1980s pop rock and new wave music, combining an unflagging synthesizer hook, characteristic arpeggio, rock guitar and obscure lyrics. AllMusic has since described it as "an instant classic with its distinctive melody and catchy chorus."

The song is included in numerous hits collections of the period, especially in the U.S., but it was not as popular throughout the rest of the world at the time. Peaking at number 24 in Hart's native Canada, it was not a hit in Europe and failed to chart at all in the UK.

The Local band covered the song and gained Corey some attention in the year of 2015.

Music video

The music video, shot at the Don Jail in Toronto, reflects the vision of a "fashion" police state, with scenes of Hart in a prison cell, without sunglasses, being strong-armed by police officers and paraded past various citizens wearing their regulation shades. Near the end of the video, Hart is taken to the office of a female police officer (who releases Hart in the song's end), played by Laurie Brown, who later became the host of The NewMusic as well as a VJ on MuchMusic.

Degrassi: The Next Generation (season 6)

The sixth season of Degrassi: The Next Generation commenced airing in Canada on 28 November 2006, concluded on 14 May 2007 and contains nineteen episodes. Degrassi: The Next Generation is a Canadian serial teen drama television series. This season depicts the lives of high school juniors, seniors and college freshman as they deal with the some of the challenges and issues young adults face such as imprisonment, online predators, burglary, substance abuse, stress, gambling addiction, financial difficulties, school rivalries, pregnancy scares and death. Unlike the previous seasons, which took place over the course of an entire school year, season six only covers the first semester of the school year, utilizing a semi-floating timeline. It also marks the first death of a main character in the series.

Production took place between May and September 2006.

Season six also aired in the United States Fridays at 8:00 p.m. on The N, a digital cable network aimed at teenagers and young adults. The season actually premiered on The N, on 29 September 2006, two months before CTV, a Canadian terrestrial television network, began to screen it. By broadcasting two episodes every Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., CTV were able to broadcast the final ten episodes of the season before The N. The season was released on DVD as a four disc boxed set on 27 May 2008 by Alliance Atlantis Home Entertainment in Canada, and FUNimation Entertainment in the United States. Registered users of the Canadian and US iTunes Stores are also able purchase and download the season for playback on home computers and certain iPods.

Paul Jackson (born 29 September 1978 in Leeds, West Yorkshire) is an English-born Scottish professional rugby league footballer. He plays at prop forward for Whitehaven, and has previously also played for Huddersfield, Wakefield Trinity and Castleford. Jackson played for Huddersfield in the 2006 Challenge Cup final as a prop forward against St Helens RFC but the Giants lost 12-42. He was named in the Scotland training squad for the 2008 Rugby League World Cup.

Paul Stafford Jackson, OBE (born 1962) is a British video game producer and publisher.

In 1993, Jackson established the British office of Electronic Arts. At EA UK, he was involved in brand-building for the The Sims series of games. Whilst at EA, he was approached by Kuju Entertainment seeking interest in publishing Rail Simulator, a successor to Microsoft Train Simulator which Microsoft Games had declined to publish.

On 1 August 2006, Jackson took over from Roger Bennett as director-general of the Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association (ELSPA), the British video game industry trade group, having served on the ELSPA board for twelve years since 1992, with three years as chairman.

In 2008, after leaving ELSPA, Jackson returned to the Rail Simulator franchise, arranging to buy the rights to the project, and becoming CEO of the resulting development company, RailSimulator.com Ltd. The company released RailWorks, the successor to Rail Simulator, in 2009. Since December 2013, the company has been known as Dovetail Games.
