Sunburn (Muse song)

"Sunburn" is a song by English alternative rock band Muse, from their 1999 debut album, Showbiz. The song was featured as the fourth single from the album. It was released on 7" vinyl—backed with a live acoustic version of the song—and double CD—backed with "Ashamed", a live version of the song, "Yes Please" and a live version of "Uno"—on 21 February 2000 and reached #22 in the UK Singles Chart—an improvement of 21 positions on "Muscle Museum".

Music video

The music video for "Sunburn", directed by Nick Gordon, depicts a young Brooke Kinsella—who later rose to fame as an actress on EastEnders—babysitting a young boy until she heads upstairs to investigate something. Entering a bedroom, she enters a wardrobe for a few minutes and begins to steal jewellery before Matthew Bellamy and Christopher Wolstenholme appear playing in the mirrors on the doors either side of her. Before she can see them, they quickly disappear in reality. Standing in front of a giant mirror, she's shocked when Bellamy, Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard emerge, playing only as their reflections. The young woman struggles to cope with seeing them perform in the mirror, clasping her head in frustration and throws an object at the mirror, smashing it. The young boy enters, he sees the room in a mess and then looks behind him. In the mirror, Muse have strangely vanished, and in their place is the girl. The video ends in a still of the boy staring in disbelief at the empty sofa, while in the mirror the girl is sitting on it.

Sunburn (Fuel album)

Sunburn is the full-length debut album by the band Fuel released in 1998. It was produced by Steven Haigler. The songs "Shimmer", "Jesus or a Gun", and "Bittersweet" were released as singles. "Shimmer" peaked at #42 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Sunburn was certified Platinum (one million units sold) by the RIAA on May 24, 2000.

Muse (headband)

Muse is a wearable brain sensing headband that can measure the wearers level of calm. The device measures brain activity via a series of EEG sensors, the level of activity is fed back to the user via headphones. Brain waves that correspond to a more relaxed state are represented by tweeting birds, those corresponding to higher amounts of brain activity are represented by storm sounds. Muse is worn over the ears and connects to a companion mobile app via bluetooth. The goal of Muse is to use biofeedback to train your brain, differing from a device like Thync that claims to actually alter brainwaves by wearing it.

Muse is the subject of various scientific studies, one of those at the Mayo Clinic, to understand its usefulness in supporting patients who have undergone breast cancer surgery.

Muse (EP)

Muse is the debut extended play (EP) by English alternative rock band Muse. Limited to 999 hand-numbered copies, it was released on 11 May 1998 by Sawmills Studio label Dangerous Records. Three of the EP's four songs – "Overdue", "Cave" and "Escape" – were re-recorded for the band's full-length debut album Showbiz, while the same recording of the song "Coma" was rereleased as a B-side on the "Cave" Single.

On the cover of the EP is a distorted and rearranged image of the band's drummer, Dominic Howard.

A slightly different image appears in the American film 12 Monkeys. Bruce Willis is seen tearing down Muse posters in Philadelphia in 1996, revealing the titular symbol spraypainted in red on the building's wall; however, the Vortex (the location of the show on the poster) is a club in London.
