Sugar Hill (song)

"Sugar Hill" is the first single from Brooklyn rapper AZ's debut album Doe or Die. It has been his biggest commercial success, reaching #25 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and #3 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Rap Tracks charts. It has been certified as Gold by the RIAA.

The song features Miss Jones on the chorus and background vocals and the song also contains a sample of "Sugar Free" by Juicy.

Sugar Hill (1974 film)

Sugar Hill is a 1974 horror blaxploitation zombie film released by AIP. It starred Marki Bey as the title character who uses voodoo to get revenge on the people responsible for her boyfriend's death. American International Pictures had previously combined the horror and blaxploitation genres with Blacula (1972) and its sequel, Scream Blacula Scream (1973).

Plot

The story centers on Diana, a voodoo queen using zombies to take revenge on a group of white gangsters. With a former practitioner named Mama Maitresse, she intends on destroying the gangsters who killed her boyfriend and now want her club. Helping her out is the voodoo lord of the dead, Baron Samedi. The zombies in this film more closely resemble the creatures of voodoo legend - i.e., the walking dead who do the bidding of a human master - than the flesh-eating "living dead" ghouls popularized by George A. Romero. According to the film, the zombies are the preserved bodies of slaves brought to the United States from Guinea.

Sugar Hill is a 1999 comedy television pilot. It was directed by Andy Cadiff, written by Chris Henchy and Gary David Goldberg and produced by Linda Nieber. It stars Ted Hollis, Jenna Matison, W. Earl Brown, Duane Martin, Teri Polo, Donald Faison, Joe Pantoliano and Charlie Sheen as "Matt". A 30 minute long pilot was premiered on January 1, 1999. The series was remade under the name "Battery Park".

Terra Nova (English: New Earth) is an American science fiction drama television series. It aired one season from September 26 to December 19, 2011. The series documents the Shannon family's experiences as they establish themselves as members of a colony, set up 85 million years in the earth's past, fleeing the dystopian overpopulated and hyperpolluted present of the mid-22nd century. The series is based on an idea by British writer Kelly Marcel and was executive produced by Steven Spielberg. On March 5, 2012, Fox announced that it would end the series.

Plot

The series is initially set in A.D. 2149, when overpopulation and declining air quality threaten all life on Earth. When scientists discover a temporal rift permitting (one-way) human transmission, they initiate a series of "pilgrimages" to a parallel "time stream" resembling Earth's Cretaceous Period. The series focuses primarily on police officer James "Jim" Shannon, his wife Elisabeth, and their three children Josh, Maddy, and Zoë, as they join the colony there, named "Terra Nova" (Latin for "New Earth" or "New World").
