History

Suave was started by National Mineral Company in the United States in 1937 as a hair tonic. The brand eventually was acquired by Helene Curtis Industries, Inc. which, in the 1970s, started expanding the Suave name beyond hair care into other areas. The brand targeted discount stores and grew its offerings to more than 100 products including shampoo, lotions, soaps and deodorant. In 1996, Helen Curtis—and thus, Suave—were acquired by Unilever. Currently based in Chicago, IL, the brand name is used in the United States, Argentina, Mexico and Canada.

Suave (Kiss Me)

"Suave (Kiss Me)" is a song by American singer-songwriter Nayer featuring Swedish-Congolese singer-songwriter Mohombi and American rapper Pitbull. It was released on August 2, 2011 by Mr. 305 and 2101 Records (Universal Music). Produced by RedOne and Jimmy Joker, the song interpolates elements from the 1998 Elvis Crespo song "Suavemente". It follows Pitbull's Billboard Hot 100 number-one single,"Give Me Everything" which featured additional vocals by Nayer. The song has charted at number 34 on the Canadian Hot 100.

Music video

The official music video was released onto Nayer's official VEVO channel on October 31, 2011.

It features Nayer in black dress, with Mohombi, in a white dress, with Pitbull. It also features an island themed style, and with Mohombi in sleeveless shirts, Nayer in a black catsuit, and Pitbull in white suit. It also features some scenes in black and white. A cave scene was filmed at the end, with Nayer and Mohombi dancing in it.

Now, the video, has received over 124 million views.

Suave (singer)

Suave is an R&B singer from Los Angeles, California. Born on February 22, 1966, he went on to hit the American top 40 charts with a cover of The Temptations' "My Girl" in 1988.

Discovery and success

Born Waymond Anderson, he was discovered at a New Edition concert in California in the mid-1980s when one of the members asked him to come up on stage and sing with them. After his initial nervousness on stage, he decided this was the career route he wanted to take. A few years later, in 1988, Suave released his first single, "My Girl," as well as an album, I'm Your Playmate. The single rose to #20 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #22 on the Radio & Records Pop Chart. Later in the year, he released a single called "Shake Your Body," which climbed to #22 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks. After a break, Today, Suave's songs are not commonly heard on U.S. radio.

Guanaco

The guanaco (Lama guanicoe) is a camelid native to South America that stands between 1.0 and 1.2 m (3 ft 3 in and 3 ft 11 in) at the shoulder and weighs about 90 kg (200 lb). The colour varies very little (unlike the domestic llama), ranging from a light brown to dark cinnamon and shading to white underneath. Guanacos have grey faces and small, straight ears. The name guanaco comes from the South American language Quechua word huanaco (modern spelling, 'wanaku'. Young guanacos are called chulengos.

Population and distribution

The guanaco is an animal native to the arid, mountainous regions of South America. They are found in the altiplano of Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina. In Chile and Argentina, they are more numerous in Patagonian regions, as well as in places such as the Torres del Paine National Park, and Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego. In these areas, they have more robust populations, since grazing competition from livestock is limited. A guanaco’s typical lifespan is 20 to 25 years.

Salvadoran hip hop

Salvadorean hip hop (also known as "Guanaco rap/hip hop) is hip hop and rap music that comes from El Salvador. It is a relatively new style of music, when groups like Pescozada and Mecate formed in the late 1990s, its counter part is Guanarock for Salvadoran rock groups. Guanaco is a nickname that Salvadorans give themselves which means "brother", it comes from the word Guanacasco which means "gathering brotherhood" from the indigenous language Poton Lenca, from northern and eastern El Salvador.
