Style (Orbital song)

"Style" is a 1999 single by the electronica duo Orbital. It was their fourth consecutive single, and fifth overall, to reach the top 20 of the UK singles chart, peaking at number 13.

The track takes its name from the analogue electronic musical instrument, the stylophone, which is used extensively on the track. The main version includes a sample of "Oh L'amour" performed by Dollar, while the "Bigpipe Style" version (which features the main riff played on bagpipes) samples Suzi Quatro's hit "Devil Gate Drive". Orbital's request to use a sample from a Rolf Harris stylophone demonstration disc was turned down. The other versions are "Old Style", a more club-oriented dance mix; and "New Style", a retro-styled version with live bass by Andy James.

All of the mixes are by Orbital themselves; the duo had wanted Stereolab to remix the track, but the latter group were on tour at the time and unavailable, so the "New Style" mix is Orbital's own version of a Stereolab-type mix.

Style (2006 film)

Style is a Telugu film produced by Lagadapati Sirisha Sridhar on Larsco Entertainment banner, directed by Raghava Lawrence. Starring Prabhu Deva, Raghava Lawrence, Raja, Kamalinee Mukherjee, Charmme Kaur in lead roles, Chiranjeevi & Nagarjuna Akkineni given cameo appearance and music is composed by Mani Sharma. This is Lawrence's second directorial venture after the blockbuster Mass with Nagarjuna Akkineni. Megastar Chiranjeevi also made a came appearance in this film. Plot

Ganesh (Prabhu Deva) is a good dancer. He beats Anthony in one dance competition to head into the international arena. Anthony gets Ganesh beaten up, and Ganesh loses his legs in a car accident. He is depressed, but he wants to give his dance talent to someone and make him his heir. On a different line, Raghava (Raghava Lawrence) works as a boy at a dance school in Vizag. He and four of his friends are good dancers, but they are never recognized until one folk dance at a hotel. Ganesh finds his prospective heir in Raghava. The rest of the film is how Raghava prepares and defeats Anthony in the final dance competition.

Electron (software framework)

Electron (formerly known as Atom Shell) is the main framework behind two notable open source software applications: GitHub Atom (text editor) and Microsoft Visual Studio Code. GitHub Electron is an open source framework developed by GitHub. Electron allows for the development of desktop GUI applications using the Node.js framework, originally used for the development of backend web applications.

Electron is a fictional character in the Marvel Universe.

Electron is a warrior serving in the Royal Elite of the Shi'ar Imperial Guard. He is a Shi'ar with the ability to generate and control electromagnetism. He was born on Chandilar, the throne world of the Shi'ar Empire.

Fictional character biography

Electron joined in the Imperial Guard's battle on behalf of Emperor D'Ken. He battled the X-Men and Starjammers, along with other Guard members, at the M'Kraan Crystal, during a Shi'ar power struggle. Alongside the Imperial Guard, he later battled Rom and his fellow Spaceknights. On Deathbird's behalf, Electron later joined the Imperial Guard members in battle against Excalibur and the Starjammers.

During Operation: Galactic Storm, Electron joined Oracle and Tempest in capturing Rick Jones while Warstar fought Captain America. The three Guardsmen battled a Kree Sentry, and battled the Living Lightning, but escaped with the Kree Psyche Magnetron device during the Kree-Shi'ar War. Electron was also among the Imperial Guard members to later lay claim to the devastated Kree Empire after the war.

AMC Amitron

The AMC Amitron was an experimental electric subcompact car built in 1967 by American Motors Corporation (AMC) and Gulton Industries. It included a number of advanced features, including regenerative braking and advanced battery designs, to provide 150 miles (240 km) range on a single charge. Development ended because of technology issues and the high cost of batteries.

In 1977, the prototype was updated, and was re-announced by AMC as the Electron to became one of automaker's "Concept 80" show cars.

Design

Impetus

Development of the Amitron was prompted by three bills passed by the 89th United States Congress, described collectively as the "Electric Vehicle Development Act of 1966," as well as a fourth bill that amended the Clean Air Act of 1963. The legislation provided funding for electric car research in response to the rapidly decreasing air quality caused by automobile emissions. Development of electric vehicles was undertaken by the domestic big three automobile manufacturers, as well as AMC. Electrically powered cars were also seen as a way for the U.S. to reduce its dependence on "expensive, undependable oil imports."
