Kim Larsen

Kim Melius Flyvholm Larsen (born October 23, 1945) is a Danish rock musician.

Career

Larsen was born in Copenhagen. Inspired by The Beatles and rock and roll, he began as a songwriter and guitarist. In 1969 he met Franz Beckerlee and Wili Jønsson, and the three founded Gasolin' which, later joined by drummer Søren Berlev, became one of the most successful Danish rock bands. The band dissolved in the late 1970s.

Around 1980 Larsen moved to New York. He released two albums but was not successful in breaking through in America and returned to Denmark after a few years.

Kim Larsen released a number of solo albums in the 1980s, topping in 1983 with the album Midt om natten. The album Midt om natten more or less became a soundtrack for the movie by the same name based upon it.

In 1983, Larsen founded the band Kim Larsen & Bellami and released four albums until 1992, when after a couple of different line-ups, the band broke up. He then released another solo album, Hvem kan sige nej til en engel (Who Can Say No To An Angel).

Kim Larsen is a Norwegian football forward who last played for Manglerud Star.

During his professional career Larsen played for Skeid, Odd Grenland and Tromsø in Tippeligaen, Kalmar FF in Allsvenskan and Herfølge in the Danish 1st Division. Larsen also played for several clubs in the lower divisions in Norway.

Stud poker

Stud poker is any of a number of poker variants in which each player receives a mix of face-down and face-up cards dealt in multiple betting rounds. Stud games are also typically non-positional games, meaning that the player who bets first on each round may change from round to round (it is usually the player whose face-up cards make the best hand for the game being played). The cards dealt face down to each individual player are called hole cards (which gave rise to the common English expression ace in the hole, which suggests that one has something valuable that is not apparent to others).

History

Stud poker variants using 4 cards were popular as of the American Revolutionary War. Five-card stud first appeared during the American Civil War when the game was much played among soldiers on both sides, and became very popular. In recent years, Seven-card stud has become more common, both in casinos and in home games. These two games form the basis of most modern stud poker variations.
