Gone! (The Cure song)

"Gone!" is a single released by the British group The Cure in 1996, reaching number sixty on the UK Singles Chart. The song was released on the album Wild Mood Swings.

History

A video was recorded for the song at a live concert in Los Angeles in August 1996. The song did not achieve commercial success as it was played infrequently at concerts, although the band did perform it on Later with Jools Holland.

"Gone" is a song by the American rock band Pearl Jam. Written by vocalist Eddie Vedder, "Gone" was released through digital music stores on October 7, 2006 as the third single from the band's eighth studio album, Pearl Jam (2006). The song reached number 40 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart.

Origin and recording

"Gone" was written by vocalist Eddie Vedder on September 30, 2005, in the Room 1152 (where the band stayed that night), of the Borgata Hotel, located in Atlantic City, New Jersey. It debuted the next night in a solo performance by Vedder at the band's October 1, 2005 concert in Atlantic City, New Jersey at the Borgata Events Center. The band recorded a demo version of the song that was released as a part of the 2005 Holiday single available to fan club members. Vedder on the song:

Lyrics

"Gone" is about leaving everything behind and moving along. The song brings into perspective perceptions that all is not lost if one chooses to incorporate change. When the song was performed on VH1 Storytellers in 2006, Vedder introduced it as "a car song." In an interview Vedder stated:

C++ string handling

The C++ programming language has support for string handling, mostly implemented in its standard library. The language standard specifies several string types, some inherited from C, some newly designed to make use of the language's features, such as templates and the RAII resource management idiom.

Since the initial versions of C++ had only the "low-level" C string handling functionality and conventions, multiple incompatible designs for string handling classes have been designed over the years, and C++ programmers may need to handle multiple conventions in a single application.

History

The std::string type is the main string datatype in standard C++ since 1998, but it was not always part of C++, and still is not the only standard string type: from C, C++ inherited the convention of using null-terminated strings that are handled by a pointer to their first element, and a library of functions that manipulate such strings. In modern standard C++, a string literal such as "hello" still denotes a NUL-terminated array of characters and std::string has support for converting itself to such an array.

Stráž (Tachov District)

Stráž is a market town (městys) in Tachov District in the Plzeň Region of the Czech Republic.

The town covers an area of 53.97 square kilometres (20.84 sq mi), and has a population of 1,108 (as at 2 October 2006).

Stráž lies approximately 18 kilometres (11 mi) south-east of Tachov, 45 km (28 mi) west of Plzeň, and 128 km (80 mi) west of Prague.

As of 2001 India census, 3 STR had a population of 10,925. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46%. 3 STR has an average literacy rate of 62%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 60% of the males and 40% of females literate. 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.
