Streamline Air

Streamline Air was an American regional-airline based at Hanscom Field in Bedford, Massachusetts. The airline commenced operations on April 4, 2011. Streamline operated four daily flights between its two destinations. Streamline Air, LLC. was a subsidiary of Charter Air Transport. All flights offered by Streamline were designated by the Department of Transportation as Public Charters.

History

Streamline Air commenced operations on April 4, 2011. All flights were operated by Charter Air Transport, Inc. as a publicly sold air service. All flights were flown with the Embraer 120 regional airliner, seating 30. One draw of this unique service was complementary snacks and cocktails in-flight. The aircraft registered N651CT was painted especially to represent the new Streamline brand. The service structure was geared toward routine business travel, but the prospects of adding seasonal leisure destinations were a plan once the company grew. On September 15, 2012 Streamline Air ceased operations.

Startisan

Startisan, formerly known as Streamline, is an American rock band originally from Rochester, New York. They have released two independent EPs. The band consists of Mike Hogan, Jon Scholl, Andrew Gaultier, Chris Jones, and Buck Langston. Brian Ireland, John Viavattine, Derek DeBlieux, and Brad Ourso are former members. After a stint in Los Angeles, California, Startisan now officially operates from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Startisan has played with bands including Switchfoot, Daughtry, Theory Of A Deadman, Seether, and Gavin DeGraw.

History

Streamline began in Rochester in 2003 with vocalist/guitarist Mike Hogan and keyboardist Jon Scholl. The two were later joined by bassist John Viavattine and the group eventually moved to Los Angeles.

It was in Los Angeles that Streamline met veteran drummer Brian Ireland of Something Corporate. Ireland was arriving at the studio for the first day of recording drum tracks for former Something Corporate guitarist William Tell's 2007 debut album, You Can Hold Me Down, when he ran into Hogan and Scholl, who were leaving the same studio. In a 2008 interview, Ireland said, "They knew who I was. Later they phoned me at the studio and asked if I would sit in and do a drumming session ... It was for 'All I Need.' I was so impressed with them. They are great players and have a real sensibility for music." Ireland recorded the track with the group and in December 2006, it was announced that he would be joining the band's official line-up.

Streamline (swimming)

Streamline form is a swimming technique that is used underwater in every stroke. At the start of a race or on a turn, streamline form is used, usually along with a dolphin kick or flutter kick, to create the least amount of resistance to help the swimmer propel as far as they can. Many factors contribute to the perfect streamline form and mastering this method increases a swimmer’s speed. Streamline is one of the key fundamentals to mastering any stroke.

Technique

The streamline position consists of a person placing hand over hand, fingers over fingers and raising their arms above their head so the biceps are tucked close to the ears. The belly is sucked back to decrease curvature of the spine in the lower back and the swimmer’s head is brought back to ensure that neck is in line with the spine Pinching the shoulder blades together is helpful in aligning the spine to straighten out the back. Legs are straight and feet are pointed. In theory, a perfect, straight line will be made down the backside of a swimmer from their head to their feet. The body should be on a horizontal plane under the water, with the legs kicking straight from the thighs and hips, not the knees. A great deal of flexibility is usually needed to reach the goal of a perfect streamline, particularly flexibility of the shoulders. Kicking in the streamline position underwater can be substantially faster than swimming any of the other aquatic strokes, competitive or otherwise. For this reason, competitive swimmers often try to kick in a streamline position off a wall or the starting block for as long as they can be underwater before coming up for their first stroke. This is why many swimmers spend a lot of time perfecting the form and technique of streamline.

Streamline (song)

"Streamline" is a song composed by Spanish band Newton. It was released in 1994 and its style is Makina. When the song was released, it was only famous in Spain and some Latin American countries like Mexico. However, in 2006 this song was featured on a Pepsi commercial featuring Jimmy Fallon, leading to some fame in the US as well. The original length of the song was 5:05, but was shortened to fit the 30-second commercial. SPG Music re-released the song on July 10, 2006.

Air (also sometimes called Wind) is often seen as a universal power or pure substance. Its fundamental importance to life can be seen in words such as aspire, inspire, perspire and spirit, all derived from the Latin spirare.

Greek and Roman tradition

Air is one of the four classical elements in ancient Greek philosophy and science. According to Plato, it is associated with the octahedron; air is considered to be both hot and wet. The ancient Greeks used two words for air: aer meant the dim lower atmosphere, and aether meant the bright upper atmosphere above the clouds.Plato, for instance writes that "So it is with air: there is the brightest variety which we call aether, the muddiest which we call mist and darkness, and other kinds for which we have no name...." Air (Agua de Annique album)

Air is the debut album of the band Agua de Annique formed by the former The Gathering vocalist Anneke van Giersbergen. The album is a pop/rock oriented album and was released in 2007. Anneke van Giersbergen also plays piano on the album.
