Girl$

Girl$ (Chinese: 囡囡) is a 2010 Hong Kong film directed by Kenneth Bi, it deals with teenagers and young women drawn into compensated dating in Hong Kong. The Chinese term 囡囡 (nānān) is a traditional affectionate term for daughter or young girl, but has also become used as euphemism for a prostitute in Hong Kong.

History

Girl$ premiered at the Hong Kong International Film Festival on 5 April 2010, before going on general release on 2 September 2010.

Plot

Gucci (Wong Si-Man) is a teenager who seeks to enhance her own self-image through the acquisition of luxury goods, bidding online for a designer handbag that she cannot afford. Looking for a way to make quick money she comes into contact with Icy (Michelle Wai). Just 19 herself, Icy acts as an online procuress, down to a single regular working girl, the hypersexual Lin (Una Lin), she offers to act as an agent for the underage Gucci's virginity, she also convinces Ronnie (Bonnie Xian) to go on compensated dates. Ronnie comes from a wealthy background however she finds herself alone and afraid of forming emotional attachments, wanting to avoid the stigma of being a prostitute, she instead pays the men she goes on dates with. Despite the differences in background the four become friends.

Strawberries (album)

Strawberries, originally titled Strawberries for Pigs, is the fifth studio album by English punk rock band The Damned. It was released in October 1982 by record label Bronze.

Background

Captain Sensible was featured prominently on backing vocals several times, as well as performing lead vocals on "Life Goes On" and "Don't Bother Me".

Bassist Paul Gray decided to call it quits in February 1983 (later that year, he replaced Billy Sheehan in UFO), and Bryn Merrick joined the band to replace Gray for their March 1983 club tour.

Sensible left The Damned after the Nun Tour (named after Dave Vanian's nun-dressed backup singers on the tour) for Strawberries and played a "last gig" (until The Damned's 10th Anniversary gig at Finsbury Park in 1986) at Brockwell Park on 4 August 1984. Roman Jugg took over Sensible's role on guitar and keyboards. Bronze Records, their label at the time, collapsed and released the band from their contract. Jugg's entrance led to further experiments with the band's sound, including loops and sampling.

Strawberries (song)

"Strawberries" was the lead single released from Smooth's fourth and final album, Reality. The lyrics are about eating strawberries with Hennessy with sexual overtones. The song became the most successful of Smooth's career, making it to 49 on the Billboard Hot 100 and 17 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks.

Two remixes for the song were made. The more popular Computer remix was produced by Darren "Nitro" Clowers and featured NBA star Shaquille O'Neal and Roger Troutman. The other remix was produced by Marc Kinchen and featured Smooth's labelmate, Rufas Blaq.
