Strange (video)

Strange - A Black and White Mode by Anton Corbijn is the second music video compilation by Depeche Mode, featuring the first five Depeche Mode videos directed by Anton Corbijn, released in 1988. Corbijn shot the entire video album in Super-8.

The five videos are mostly in black and white, except for some random megaphones that were colored red. There were the three main singles for Music for the Masses, the final Black Celebration single "A Question of Time", and "Pimpf", the instrumental closer to Music for the Masses. The "Pimpf" video is currently exclusive to "Strange".

Strange+ (ストレンジ・プラス, Sutorenji Purasu) is a gag manga series by Verno Mikawa. It has been serialized in Ichijinsha's Josei manga magazine Monthly Comic Zero Sum since the magazine's first issue in March 2002 and has been collected in thirteen tankōbon volumes as of November 2013. An anime television series adaptation by Seven began airing from January 9, 2014. A second season was announced for July.

Power to the People (Poison album)

Power to the People is an album by the American rock band Poison, released on June 13, 2000 on the band's independent label, Cyanide Music. It marked the return of the original lineup, together for the first time since 1991's Swallow This Live with the return of C.C. DeVille who replaced Blues Saraceno.

The album is a part studio, part live album consisting of five newly recorded studio tracks and 12 live tracks from Poison's successful 1999–2000 greatest hits reunion tour.

The album was re-packaged and re-released in 2006 as Great Big Hits Live! Bootleg without the studio tracks or drum and guitar solos. (Live hits only version)

Music and lyrics

The title track featured a rap-tinged sound which was influenced by contemporary nu metal and rap metal bands. In a 2000 interview, Bret Michaels described the song as being a tribute to Poison fans.

Michaels has labelled "Can't Bring Me Down" as "one of the most uplifting songs that we've done in a long time".

Ben Folds Five is the self-titled debut album by Ben Folds Five, released in 1995. A non-traditional rock album, it featured an innovative indie-pop sound, and excluded lead guitars completely. The album was released on the small independent label Passenger Records, owned by Caroline Records, a subsidiary of Virgin/EMI. Ben Folds Five received positive reviews, and spawned five singles. The record failed to chart, but sparked an intense bidding war eventually won by Sony Music. Several live versions of songs originally released on Ben Folds Five reappeared later as b-sides or on compilations.

The album received positive reviews from NME, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, and Entertainment Weekly. Allmusic gave Ben Folds Five 4 out of 5 stars, calling it "a potent, and extremely fun collection of postmodern rock ditties that comes off as a pleasantly workable combination of Tin Pan Alley showmanship, Todd Rundgren-style power pop, and myriad alt-rock sensibilities."
