Stoke Hundred is a hundred in Buckinghamshire, England. It is situated in the south of the county and is bounded on the east by Middlesex and on the south by Berkshire.
Until at least the time of the Domesday Survey in 1086 there were 18 hundreds in Buckinghamshire. It has been suggested however that neighbouring hundreds had already become more closely associated in the 11th century so that by the end of the 14th century the original or ancient hundreds had been consolidated into 8 larger hundreds. Stoke hundred is one of three hundreds which became collectively known as the Chiltern hundreds around the 13th century, the others being Burnham hundred and Desborough hundred. Even before this time these individual hundreds had become possessions of the Crown and were nominally stewarded as a royal bailiwick. The hundreds lost their collective 'Chilterns' title having become separately leased though retaining their individual administrative status as Buckinghamshire hundreds. Meanwhile the role of Steward of the Chiltern Hundreds persisted in name only becoming an appointment of the House of Commons.
Stoke is a historic farm property 23587 Stoke Farm Lane in rural Loudoun County, Virginia, near the hamlet of Aldie. Its main house, set one mile down the entrance drive, is an 1840 Greek Revival farmhouse that underwent a major transformation in 1907 in the Renaissance Revival style. The property includes an early 20th-century swimming pool, tennis court, and landscaped garden with wall fountain, in addition to a complex of farm outbuildings, many dating to the 1920s. The gardens were developed by noted norticulturalist Eleanor Truax Harris.
The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.
Stoke
The abyss is gazing in your eyes
so close
echoes of fear in your ears
so close
this maniac is your everyday life
and you can't ecscape it, even if you try
Stoke , Stoke , Stoke
Adrenalin is discharged in your veins
repress your strain and get in on again
You're tremblin around , destruction
Your head upside down, bonefraction
You're rollin away
First round out , now try it once again
Stoke , Stoke , Stoke
Some day you'll cease this chase
So don't stop now, your greed and haste
