Stockfish is unsalted fish, especially cod, dried by cold air and wind on wooden racks on the foreshore, which is called "hjell" in Norway. The drying of food is the world's oldest known preservation method, and dried fish has a storage life of several years. The method is cheap and effective in suitable climates; the work can be done by the fisherman and family, and the resulting product is easily transported to market.
Cod is the most common fish used in stockfish production, while other whitefish, such as pollock, haddock, ling and cusk, are used to a lesser degree.
Over the centuries, several variants of dried fish have evolved. The stockfish (fresh dried, not salted) category is often wrongly mixed with the clipfish, or salted cod, category where the fish is salted before drying. After 2–3 weeks in salt the fish has salt-matured, and is transformed from wet salted fish to clipfish through a drying process. The salted fish was earlier dried on rocks (clips) on the foreshore. The production method of clipfish was developed by the Portuguese who first mined salt near the brackish water of Aveiro, and brought it to Newfoundland where cod (bacalhau) was available in massive quantities. Salting was not economically feasible until the 17th century, when cheap salt from southern Europe became available to the maritime nations of northern Europe.
Stockfish is an open sourceUCI chess engine, available for various desktop and mobile platforms. It is developed by Tord Romstad, Marco Costalba, Joona Kiiski and Gary Linscott, with many contributions from a community of open source developers.
Stockfish is consistently ranked first or near the top of most chess engine rating lists and is the strongest open source chess engine in the world. It won the unofficial world computer chess championships in 2013 and was a runner-up in 2014 and 2015. It is derived from Glaurung, an open source engine by Romstad.
Stockfish can use up to 128 CPU cores in multiprocessor systems. The maximum size of its transposition table is 1 TB. Stockfish implements an advanced alpha-beta search and uses bitboards. Compared to other engines, it is characterized by its great search depth, due in part to more aggressive pruning and late move reductions.
Stockfish supports Chess960, which is one of the features that was inherited from Glaurung. The Syzygy tablebase support, previously available in a fork maintained by Ronald de Man, was integrated into Stockfish in 2014.
An deinem Herz hängt ein Schild
Betreten verboten
wenn das auch für mich gilt
na dann gute Nacht !
An deinem Herz hängt ein Schild
Berühren verboten
daß das auch für mich gilt
hätt' ich nie gedacht
Du bist ein Stockfisch
du schaltest auf stur
du bist ein Stockfisch
machst auf die knallharte Tour
Stockfisch
Stockfisch
rede mit mir
