Slaves on Dope is a Canadian Nu metal[1] band, based out of Montreal, Canada.

The band was formed in the 1993 by Jason Rockman and Avrum Nadigel (original lineup consisted of founders as well as Patrick Francis, Kevin Jardine, and Lenny Vartanian) highly influenced by the "Grunge" era. In 1995, after the departure of bassist Francis & drummer Vartanian, Frank Salvaggio (bass) and Robert Urbani (drums) entered the fray and so began a new heavier direction for the band.

At the time the Canadian music scene had not embraced the "Nu Metal" scene, so Salvaggio & Urbani decided to make a 6 day trek via Greyhound bus from Montreal to Los Angeles, CA, the center of "Nu Metal" to begin the process of making in-roads, contacts & securing showcases for the band. After a year filled with showcases the band secured a record deal through Ozzy & Sharon Osbourne's Divine Recordings who in turn released their full length album "Inches from the Mainline" in 2000.

The band also toured Ozzfest in 2000, and made an appearance on the SnoCore Tour. The album went on to sell approximately 70,000 copies in the US.[2]

After Divine Recordings lost their distribution deal with EMI's Priority Records, the band was left without a label & returned to Montreal. Salvaggio once again returned to Los Angeles, CA with the goal of securing another record deal. With the help of producers Jason Slater & Troy Van Leeuwen, a deal was struck with Bieler Bros. Records. Their second major album Metafour was released in 2003.

In March 2004, vocalist Jason Rockman left the band, a move that prompted Slaves on Dope to disband. Bassist Frank Salvaggio and drummer Rob Urbani are now part of the band Anew Revolution, featuring ex-Unloco vocalist Joey Duenas. Kevin Jardine has gone on to become a producer in Montreal, as well as forming his own band called The Monarchy.

In 2006, the band's independent release One Good Turn Deserves Another was re-issued through Just A Minute Records. In 2009 Jason and Kevin reformed the band as the only current members and are now recording their third studio album. In a recent webisode the band announced the name of the album to be "Over the Influence". It was announced on webisode 18 that recording is finished 17 tracks have been recorded. Jason then stated in a video on the bands Facebook that the album will be released in the Spring of 2011.

In October 2011, it was announced that Slaves on Dope had signed to THC:Music/Rocket Science Ventures, the new label of Corporate Punishment Records President, and early Slaves on Dope manager Thom Hazaert, who will release Over the Influence Worldwide in Spring 2012. They also announced the release of a digital-only EP Careless Coma in November 2011.

Stick It

Stick It is an American teen comedy-drama film starring Jeff Bridges, Missy Peregrym, and Vanessa Lengies. It was written and directed by Jessica Bendinger, writer of Bring It On; the film marks her directorial debut. It was produced by Touchstone Pictures and Spyglass Entertainment and was released in theatres on April 28, 2006.

Plot

Haley Graham (Missy Peregrym) is a rebellious 17-year-old who has a run-in with the law when she and two friends go biking through a residential construction site. Haley is arrested and is forced by a judge to return to the regimented world of competitive gymnastics. Haley was once considered one of the most talented gymnasts in the US. One year earlier, she made it to the World Championships, but she walked out of competition in the middle of the finals, costing the American team the gold medal and leaving many people hurt and crushed, making her one of the most hated people in gymnastics.

Haley goes to the elite Vickerman Gymnastics Academy (VGA), her ultimate nightmare, run by legendary coach Burt Vickerman (Jeff Bridges). Haley has a talk with Coach Vickerman, who convinces her to take up the sport once again – at least until she can enter an upcoming invitational competition. Vickerman convinces her that she can use the prize money from the competition to repay some property damage debts she still owes and leave gymnastics once and for all. Disliking the sport's rigid rules and intense training schedule, Haley is reluctant to come out of retirement. Her attitude toward her fellow gymnasts – as well as her past – causes conflicts. After getting the cold shoulder the first day at the gym, Haley realizes what she is up against.

Great White (album)

Great White is the first full-length album by the American rock band Great White. Three tracks are taken from the band's previous EP, albeit in re-recorded versions. The musical style of this album is very different from the following highly successful releases of Great White, as they display here a more hard-driving metal sound as opposed to their later, blues-infused rock sound.EMI America judged the album a disaster and Great White were dropped. This led to a rethink by the band, and they became less heavy, introducing a tame hard rock sound for later albums.

The CD reissue of 1999, done under the name Stick It by the French label Axe Killer, features five bonus tracks.

    Stick It Up

    by: Slaves On Dope

    I CANNOT DESCRIBE
    EVERYTHING THAT’S PASSED MY EYES
    STILL I CRITICIZE
    AND TRY TO ACT WISE
    WHEN I’M WITH YOU
    ALL MY DREAMS COME TRUE
    YOU GOT SENT TO ME
    IN A BOX OF NEGATIVITY
YOU’RE THE REASON I’M HERE TODAY
    AND I CAN SAFELY SAY
I WOULDN'T HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY
DON’T YOU LIE TO ME YOU COKE SNIFFING SLUT
I KNOW YOU HATE MY GUTS
    chorus
    COME ON, COME ON
    STICK IT UP
    COME ON, COME ON
    GO
    WHEN I RODE YOUR PLANE
YOU WERE THE MATCH FOR MY FLAME
    DROVE ME INSANE
WITH YOUR FUCKING SILLY HEAD GAMES
    YOU WERE NICE TO ME
    ‘TILL THE MORNING
    STUCK THAT KNIFE IN
    MY BACK WITHOUT A WARNING
    YOU LOOK AROUND
AND YOU RE-CREATE, I SAID MY SHIT
    AND I SAID IT STRAIGHT
I STAYED THE FURTHEST I COULD FROM YOU
    BECAUSE YOU WERE FUCKED UP
    CLASS A CERTIFIED NUT
NOW YOU COME TO ME AND SAY
    IT’S IN THE PAST
    KISS MY ASS
    chorus
    COME ON, COME ON
    STICK IT UP
    COME ON, COME ON
    GO
I’M BACK, DON’T YOU KNOW YOU CAN’T KILL ME
I COME BACK WITH THE FATTEST FLOW
    BEFORE YOU CRY
    DON’T ASK TO DIE
    AND DON’T ASK ME
    WHY
    STICK IT UP
