Steve Jennings (footballer)

Steven "Steve" John Jennings (born 28 October 1984) is an English professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for National League club Tranmere Rovers.

He turned professional at Tranmere Rovers in October 2002 and made his first team debut 12 months later. He remained with Tranmere for six seasons, also playing on loan at Hereford United in the latter half of the 2006–07 season. He signed with Scottish Premier League club Motherwell in July 2009. He spent three seasons in Scotland, featuring on the losing side in the 2011 final of the Scottish Cup. He then spent one season each at Coventry City and Tranmere Rovers, before joining Port Vale in July 2014. He returned to Tranmere on loan later in the year before joining the club permanently in January 2015.

Playing career

Jennings was taken out of the Everton Academy by his father and instead joined the Tranmere Rovers Centre of Excellence in 1998. He was a key part of the Rovers youth team that reached the FA Youth Cup semi-finals in 2003. He signed a three-and-a-half-year professional contract with the club in October 2002.

Steve Jennings (taekwondo)

Steve Jennings, born 25 December 1981, is a former international taekwondo athlete, Great Britain National Team player, and a current coach of the Great Britain National Squad.

Early Career

Having trained in the art of taekwondo for several years, he gained the rank of a black belt. Originally from Liverpool, Jennings competed for his local club, Liverpool Elite, before trialling and being selected for the Great Britain National Team. He participated in the Sydney Olympics in 2000.

International Career

He fought in the 2000 Sydney Olympics amongst other international events before recent retirement. He became an Elite team member. Prior to representing taekwondo internationally he trained and competed locally until his Elite Team selection. Soon after he decided to retire from competitive participation in taekwondo and began a coaching career.

Coaching

He is now a coach at both, club and national level. He began coaching at the age of 18, after having joined Elite Taekwondo, located in Liverpool. Due to the teams success Steve Jennings began coaching the National team along with Martin Stamper and Sarah Stevenson in 2007. After making his contribution as a competitor of Taekwondo, Steve Jennings also attended Quest Penistone providing the British Squad a rare opportunity.
