"Stay" is the debut single from Bernard Butler released in January 1998. It was taken from the album People Move On and charted at number 12 on the UK Singles Chart.[1]

The song begins with a gentle acoustic guitar, which leads into Butler's vocals. Drums, electric guitar, keyboards and backing vocals all get introduced gradually, before coming together in one last climax and quiet coda.[2] Butler has said that "Stay" is not a love song but a song about change. "The process of change is hard but you've got to do it. It's about when you know you've got to do something but there's an element of risk. It's about when I first went to France to record. A lot of the lyrics come from a conversation with Elisa, my wife. I wrote them on the train over to France."[3]

Ned Raggett of Allmusic wrote: "The long-awaited introduction of Butler to the music world as a singer/songwriter is at once slightly tentative and quite promising. The title track is one of the more self-consciously grandiose things out there, but its big advantage is that it builds rather than overwhelms."[2]

The music video for the title song was directed by David Mould, whose directing credits include Suede's "Trash", the first single released after Butler's departure.

B-side "Hotel Splendide" features backing vocals from Edwyn Collins.[2]

Can't Be Tamed

Can't Be Tamed is the third studio album by American singer Miley Cyrus. It was released on June 18, 2010, by Hollywood Records; it would become her final album with the label after signing with RCA Records in 2013. Cyrus wrote the project in 2009, while travelling internationally for her Wonder World Tour, and recorded it in 2010. Described by Cyrus as a "good [record] to blast in your car", Can't Be Tamed represents a musical departure from her earlier work, which she had grown to feel uninspired by. As executive producers, Tish Cyrus and Jason Morey enlisted partners including Devrim Karaoglu, Marek Pompetzki, Rock Mafia, and John Shanks to achieve Cyrus' desired new sound. Their efforts resulted in a primarily dance-pop record, which Cyrus' record label acknowledged differed from the original plans for the project. Its lyrical themes revolve largely around breaking free of constraints and expectations, which are largely mentioned in the context of romantic relationships.

Whatever We Wanna

Whatever We Wanna is the eighth studio album by LeAnn Rimes, released June 6, 2006. The album is similar to her R&B influenced Twisted Angel but has a more rock-oriented sound. The album was released and promoted exclusively in Europe, Taiwan, and Brazil. It was originally slated to be released in the U.S. (and even appeared in the US iTunes store briefly), however, the release was pulled due to the success of her single (from This Woman), "Something's Gotta Give" (which peaked at #2 on Billboards Top Country Songs), leading to an increase in sales of This Woman.

Singles

Three singles were released from the album. "And It Feels Like" was released as the lead single from the album on May 5, 2006. The second single, "Strong", was released in Germany on June 23, 2006. The third and final single from the album was Rimes' duet with Brian McFadden, "Everybody's Someone", which was released on September 25, 2006.

Strong (Tracy Lawrence album)

Strong is the eighth studio album by American country music singer Tracy Lawrence, released in 2004, his only album for the DreamWorks label. It produced three singles for him on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks (now Hot Country Songs) charts: "Paint Me a Birmingham" (#4), "It's All How You Look at It" (#35) and "Sawdust on Her Halo" (#48). "Paint Me a Birmingham" was also recorded in 2003 by Ken Mellons on his album Sweet, from which it was released as a single shortly before Lawrence's rendition.

  • Strong inflection

A strong inflection is a system of verb conjugation or noun/adjective declension which can be contrasted with an alternative system in the same language, which is then known as a weak inflection. The term strong was coined with reference to the Germanic verb, but has since been used of other phenomena in these and other languages, which may or may not be analogous. Note that there is nothing objectively "strong" about a strong form; the term is only meaningful in opposition to "weak" as a means of distinguishing paradigms within a single language. Nor is there any distinguishing feature common to all strong forms, except that they are always counterpoints to "weak" ones.

The Germanic strong verb, occurring in Germanic languages including German and English, is characterised by a vowel shift called ablaut. Examples in English include give/gave, come/came, fall/fell. There is nothing comparable in the German strong adjective inflections. For a full discussion of this distinction see weak inflection.

    Stay Strong

    by: Victory

Stay strong cause I need you to know
That I'm here and I'm not letting you go
So believe in every word that I say
'Cause I know just what makes you feel alive
So tonight lets scream at the top of our lungs
From the top of the world we'll scream at the top of our lungs
    Stay strong
    It's not over yet
Tell me we will make it out alive tell me you'll never forget
    I'll never let you go
I will stand here by your side
Tell me we will make it out alive
Stay young cause I need you to know
That our time is running low
So lets live like we don't care tonight
Cause its the only way we can feel alive
So tonight lets scream at the top of our lungs
From the top of the world we'll scream at the top of our lungs
    Stay strong
    Its not over yet
Tell me we will make it out alive tell me you'll never forget
    I'll never let you go
I will stand here by your side
Tell me we will make it out alive
    Ohhh
And baby as the stars they align to the sweetest spot in the night
That's where we'll make our way
    Stay strong
    It's not over yet
tell me we will make it out alive tell me you'll never forget
I'll never let you go I will stand here by your side
