Danny Rampling is a British house music DJ and is widely credited as one of the original founders of the UK's rave/club scene. His long career began in the early 1980s playing hip-hop, soul and funk around numerous bars and clubs in London. He was the first winner of the No 1 DJ in the World Award by DJ Magazine in 1991 and is a three time DJ Awards recipient. In has career he sold over 1 million compilation albums.
During a holiday in Ibiza in 1987, Rampling, along with fellow DJs Paul Oakenfold and Nicky Holloway, attended Amnesia, a then open air nightclub in San Rafael. At the club the group were introduced to the unique eclectic style of DJ Alfredo, playing, among other genres, the new house music that had been exported from the USA. The group also discovered the music's powerful combination with the drug Ecstasy (MDMA), that reduced inhibitions and created a sense of oneness on the dance floor.
Upon his return to England, Rampling, along with his then wife, Jenny, attempted to recreate the Ibiza experience by promoting what is regarded as the UK's first Balearic rave club, Shoom. Shoom ran for three years, starting out at a gym in Southwark, London. It was a launching point for acid house culture , while contributing to worldwide dance culture. Rampling had planned a party to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Shoom, which would be held at Cable Nightclub on 8 December 2012.

Dear lover I've been writing you letters
Since the day the knife was turned
And every one I throw in the fire
'Cause baby one day they won't burn
(Just like the sun set behind these eyelids, I'll never let this go)
Yeah but they will never know
(Maybe with time spent, we can get over it, I guess you'll let me know)
Just how far how far
Stay gold
You deserve better than this
And I
I'm a god damn wreck
Stay gold
We can clean up this mess
If you will let me call this home
And I don't even know if half of it's true
I buried all my hurt inside of you
Sew you back up and hope you pull through
If you will let me call this home
Dear brother I'm so sick of the venom
You're spitting at me when my back is turned
And every time I flirt with forgiveness
Well maybe one day I will learn
(Just like the sun set behind these eyelids, I'll never let this go)
Yeah but they will never know
(Maybe with time spent, we can get over it, I guess you'll let me know)
Just how far I will go
And every Judas knows just when to kiss the savior
Stay gold
You deserve better than this
And I
I'm a god damn wreck
Stay gold
We can clean up this mess
If you will let me call this home
And I don't even know if half of it's true
I buried all my hurt inside of you
Sew you back up and hope you pull through
If you will let me call this home
Lie until there's nothing left
Just half a pack of cigarettes
It burns on and on and on until you're gone
You're a shooting star
A heart attack
You fill my lungs, you paint them black
It goes on and on and on and on
(Woah)
(Woah)
Stay gold
You deserve better than this
And I
I'm a god damn wreck
Stay gold
We can clean up this mess
If you will let me let me let me
And I don't even know if half of it's true
I buried all my hurt inside of you
Sew you back up and hope you pull through
If you will let me call this home
Stay gold
You deserve better than this
Stay gold
You deserve better than this
Stay gold
You deserve better than this
