Redux (The X-Files)

"Redux" is the collective name for the two-part fifth season premiere of the science fiction television series The X-Files. "Redux I" first aired on November 2, 1997 on Fox in the United States, with "Redux II" airing on November 9. Both episodes subsequently aired in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Both episodes were written by series creator Chris Carter, with "Redux" directed by R. W. Goodwin and "Redux II" helmed by Kim Manners. "Redux" became the second-most-watched episode ever broadcast, earning more than 27 million viewers in the United States alone. The first part of the episode received mixed to negative reviews, whereas the second part received mixed to positive reviews from critics.

The show centers on FBI special agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) who work on cases linked to the paranormal, called X-Files. The episodes' story continues on from the fourth season finale "Gethsemane". "Redux I" follows Scully, who helps Mulder to fake his own death in an effort to discover which members of the FBI they can trust before the agents individually search for an answer to Scully's cancer. "Redux II" continues immediately afterwards with Scully hospitalized, and Mulder is offered a deal to ally with The Smoking Man (William B. Davis).

Redux (album)

Redux a compilation album by Adam Ant. It is a 15-track bonus disc that only came with the Adam Ant Remastered box set. It features previously unreleased demo versions of songs from his previous albums. It also contains a T. Rex cover version that was demoed in 1996 - "Dandy in the Underworld".

Statement (logic)

In logic, a statement is either (a) a meaningful declarative sentence that is either true or false, or (b) that which a true or false declarative sentence asserts. In the latter case, a statement is distinct from a sentence in that a sentence is only one formulation of a statement, whereas there may be many other formulations expressing the same statement.

Philosopher of language, Peter Strawson advocated the use of the term "statement" in sense (b) in preference to proposition. Strawson used the term "Statement" to make the point that two declarative sentences can make the same statement if they say the same thing in different ways. Thus in the usage advocated by Strawson, "All men are mortal." and "Every man is mortal." are two different sentences that make the same statement.

In either case a statement is viewed as a truth bearer.

Statement (song)

"Statement" is a single by Japanese experimental band Boris. The A-side "Statement" was a preview of things to come on their full-length album Smile, which was released on Diwphalanx Records and Southern Lord Records in 2008. The B-side "Floor Shaker" is an unreleased song from the Smile sessions exclusive to this single and its own single available free with purchase from the Inoxia Records store; this single version fades out early.

The logo on the cover is a tribute to the American black metal band Von, who use the same font and insert the same pentagram into the O.

"Statement" reached number 23 on Billboard's Hot Singles Sales for the week of March 29, 2008.

Both songs appear on the compilation album Boris / Variations + Live in Japan.
