Stars on 33 was the first DJ mix album, mixed by Aim. The album was released in 2002 on the Fat City Recordings label.
Stars on 45 was a Dutch novelty pop act that was briefly very popular throughout Europe and in the United Kingdom, the United States and Australia in 1981. The group later shortened its name to Stars On in the U.S., while in the U.K. and Ireland it was known as Starsound. The band, which consisted solely of studio session musicians under the direction of Jaap Eggermont, formerly of Golden Earring, popularized medley recordings made by recreating hit songs as faithfully as possible and joining them together with a common tempo and underlying drum track.
Stars on 54 were a supergroup put together to record the song "If You Could Read My Mind" for the soundtrack of the 1998 film, 54, which starred Mike Myers as Steve Rubell, owner of the Studio 54 nightclub. The track was a house music version of the Gordon Lightfoot song, and reached No. 1 in Spain, No. 52 in the United States, No. 3 in Australia and Canada, No. 6 in New Zealand and No. 23 in the UK Singles Chart.
The group's name was a play on the Dutch hitmaking group Stars on 45 from the 1980s.
"Stars on 45" is a song issued in January 1981 by the studio group Stars on 45. In some countries, including the UK, Ireland and New Zealand, the band was credited as 'Starsound' and the medley itself was named "Stars on 45". Its official title in the US (as on the record and in Billboard) where it was credited to 'Stars on 45' was "Medley: Intro 'Venus' / Sugar Sugar / No Reply / I'll Be Back / Drive My Car / Do You Want to Know a Secret / We Can Work It Out / I Should Have Known Better / Nowhere Man / You're Going to Lose That Girl / Stars on 45". It is (to date) the longest titled song to ever chart in Billboard, and is conveniently shortened to "Stars on 45 Medley", or "'Medley' by Stars on 45". The reason for the long title was copyright requirements for the use of The Beatles' songs.
It reached number 1 in the Netherlands in February 21, 1981; number 2 in the UK in April 1981; and number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on June 20, 1981. In the US, the single also peaked at number 18 on the dance chart. In the US, the song's one-week stay at the top of the Hot 100 interrupted the Kim Carnes single "Bette Davis Eyes" run as the number 1 single at five weeks. The next week, Carnes' song regained its number 1 status for an additional four weeks.
King's Highway 33, commonly referred to as Highway 33, is a provincially maintained highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. The route begins at Highway 62 in Bloomfield and travels east to the Collins Bay Road junction at Collins Bay in the city of Kingston, a distance of 60.9 kilometres (37.8 mi). The highway continues farther east into Kingston as Bath Road (Kingston Road 33), ending at the former Highway 2, now Princess Street. Highway 33 is divided into two sections by the Bay of Quinte. The Glenora Ferry service crosses between the two sections just east of Picton, transporting vehicles and pedestrians for free throughout the year.
Originally, Highway 33 continued northeast through Trenton to the town of Stirling, ending at a junction with Highway 14. This section was transferred to county governments by the beginning of 1998. In 2009, Highway 33 west of Picton became the site of the first modern roundabout on a provincial highway.
In 1984, Queen Elizabeth commemorated Highway 33 between Trenton and Kingston as the Loyalist Parkway at a ceremony in Amherstview in honour of the settlers that landed there in 1784.
You can boogie like disco love that disco sound
Turn up the volume and move it all around
But don't don't don't don't don't forget
Don't don't don't don't don't forget
The Stars on '45 keep on turning in your mind
Like "We Can Work it Out"
Remember "Twist and Shout"
You still don't "Tell Me Why" and "No Reply"
1 2 3 4...
This happened once before when I came to your door
No reply
They said it wasn't you but I saw you peep through your window
You know if you break my heart I'll go
But I'll come back again
'Cause I told you once before goodbye
But I came back again
Asked a girl what she wanted to be
And she said "Baby can't you see?"
"I wanna be famous a star on the screen."
"But you can do something in between!"
"Baby you can drive my car."
"Yes I'm gonna be a star."
"Baby you can drive my car."
"And Baby I love you!"
Listen do you want to know a secret?
Do you promise not to tell?
Oh oh-a-oh oh
Closer let me whisper in your ear
Say the words you long to hear
I'm in love with you (oh-a-ooh-ooh)
Try to see it my way
Do I have to keep on talking 'til I can't go on?
While you see it your way
Run the risk of knowing that our love may soon be gone
We can work it out
We can work it out
I should've know better with a girl like you
That I would love everything that you do
And I do hey hey hey
He's a real nowhere man sitting in his nowhere land
You're gonna lose that girl
You're gonna lose that girl
You're gonna lose that girl
I think I'm gonna be sad I think it's today yeah
The girl that's driving me mad is going away
She's got a ticket to ride she's got a ticket to ride
She's got a ticket to ride and she don't care
Say the word and you'll be free
Say the word and be like me
Say the word I'm thinking of
Have you heard the word is love?
It's so fine it's sunshine
It's the word love
Ahh look at all the lonely people
Ahh look at all the lonely people
When I'm walking beside her people tell me I'm lucky
Yes I know I'm a lucky guy
I remember the first time I was lonely without her
Can't stop thinking about her now
Every little thing she does she does for me yeah
And you know the things she does she does for me oooh
You tell me that you've got everything you want
And your bird can sing
But you don't get me you don't get me
When your prized possessions start to wear you down
Look in my direction I'll be around I'll be around
Jo jo was a man who thought he was a loner
But he knew it wouldn't last
Jo jo left his home in Tucson Arizona
For some California grass
Get back get back get back to where you once belonged
Get back get back get back to where you once belonged
Got a good reason for takin' the easy way out
Got a good reason for takin' the easy way out now
She was a day tripper one way ticket yeah
It took me so long to find out and I found out
It's been a long time
Now I'm coming back home
I've been away now
Oh how I've been alone
Wait 'til I come back to your side
We'll forget the tears we've cried
But if your heart breaks
Don't wait turn me away
And if your heart's strong
Hold on I won't delay
The Stars on '45 keep on turning in your mind
Like "We Can Work it Out"
Remember "Twist and Shout"
