Sreekanth
Srikanth is a veteran Indian actor who has performed in around 200 Tamil films since the 1960s. He has played supporting roles alongside Sivaji Ganesan, Muthuraman, Jaishankar. In the later part of his career he appeared as a villain opposite actors including Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. In the 1974 Tamil film Dikkatra Parvathi, which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil in 1975, Srikanth starred in the lead role.
Early life
A close associate of actor Venniradai Moorthy, Srikanth was employed in the American Consulate before his career in the film industry.
In 1965, Sreekanth made his acting debut in Vennira Aadai, directed by C. V. Sridhar. The movie also debuted the careers of Vennira Aadai Nirmala, Vennira Aadai Moorthy and Jayalalithaa. Later in 1965, Sreekanth acted in Naanal directed by K. Balachandar.
In 1972, Srikanth played a villain in Aval, directed by his mentor C. V. Sridhar in which Sasi Kumar played as the protagonist and this altered his career by choosing to play negative roles in the future.
