Spyder is a fictional character in the Marvel Universe.
Fictional character biography
Spyder is the alien head of the Webb, an intergalactic trading organization. His principal interest, however, is the gaining of wealth through unscrupulous business practices.
Due to failed business dealings, the brother of the alien known as Gosamyr is forced to forfeit his freedom and that of his family members to Spyder. Spyder takes Gosamyr as his personal slave. When he sends his minions to capture Lila Cheney, Gosamyr stows away in an attempted escape. Cheney is captured, and Gosamyr enlists the help of her friends the New Mutants. They all journey to Spyder's planet, where he captures them. The New Mutants escape and battle Spyder's forces, destroying his palace.

Spyder (formerly Pydee) is an open source cross-platform IDE for scientific programming in the Python language. Spyder integrates NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib and IPython, as well as other open source software.
In comparison with other IDEs for scientific development Spyder has a unique set of features - cross-platform, open-source, written in Python and available under non-copyleft license. Spyder is extensible with plugins, includes support for interactive tools for data inspection and embeds Python-specific code quality assurance and introspection instruments, such as Pyflakes, Pylint and Rope. It is available cross-platform through Anaconda, on Windows with WinPython and Python(x,y), on Mac OS through MacPorts, and on major Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, OpenSuse, Gentoo or ArchLinux.
Spyder makes use of Qt either through the binding PyQt or PySide. This flexibility is reached through a small abstraction layer called QtPy.
