Spooked (album)

Spooked is the fifteenth studio album by Robyn Hitchcock. It was recorded in collaboration with Gillian Welch and David Rawlings at Woodlands Studio in Nashville, TN in 2004, and released later that year.

The set comprises twelve new recordings, all Hitchcock compositions with the exception of "Trying to Get to Heaven Before They Close the Door", a cover of a Bob Dylan song.

The tracks revisit Hitchcock's 1980s style, containing in their lyrics portrayals of several eccentric characters, surreal situations and scenarios, and several references to death, one of Hitchcock's most enduring themes. The packaging too is retrospective, its green and yellow packaging falling in line with previous solo-acoustic albums such as Eye and Moss Elixir. The painting on the front is a detail from one of Hitchcock's own, featuring an enlarged cat-like creature looming from behind a wall.

Hitchcock dedicates the album to 'The Dark Princess', using the title of a track from 1999's Jewels for Sophia as a pseudonym for his partner Michele Noach.

Spooked (film)

Spooked is a 2004 New Zealand film directed by Geoff Murphy and loosely based on Ian Wishart's novel The Paradise Conspiracy, which itself is based on actual events in New Zealand. Partly funded by the New Zealand Film Commission, Spooked had its first screenings in the market at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival where it was first reviewed. The film performed poorly at the box office after some negative reviews despite its cast of prominent New Zealand actors.

Plot

Investigative journalist Mort Whitman (Cliff Curtis) is onto the story of his lifetime, the most important story in the nation. It was huge involving a big pay-off from a multinational bank to a second-hand computer dealer Kevin Jones (Christopher Hobbs). Tracing the days leading up to Kevin's suspicious death, Mort reveals Kevin's increasing paranoia and erratic behaviour through the eyes of his best mate Jimmy Blick (John Leigh) and girlfriend Ruby Elder (Miriama Smith). What dangerous secrets had he stumbled upon? Did the forces - private security, police, SIS or CIA - that increasingly menaced his life, kill him? Or did he simply drink too much and crash his car? Mort is determined to get to the bottom of it, if it kills him.

Stargate SG-1 (season 5)

The fifth season of the military science fiction television series Stargate SG-1 commenced airing on Showtime in the United States on June 29, 2001, concluded on Sky1 in the United Kingdom on February 6, 2002, and contained 22 episodes. The fifth season introduces future main character Jonas Quinn portrayed by Corin Nemec from 2002–2004. The fifth season is about the ongoing war with the Goa'uld Empire after the death of Apophis at the start of the season and the rise of a new System Lord named Anubis. SG-1, a military-science team, are set to explore the Milky Way Galaxy.

The one-hour premiere "Enemies", which debuted on June 29, 2001 on Showtime had the lowest syndication of the seasons episode, but overall got a high viewership level. This would be the last season to feature Apophis alive, but he would return in dreams and alternate realities and timelines. The series was developed by Brad Wright and Jonathan Glassner. Season five regular cast members include Richard Dean Anderson, Michael Shanks, Amanda Tapping, Christopher Judge, and Don S. Davis.

W.I.T.C.H.

W.I.T.C.H. is an Italian fantasy, magical girl comic series written by Elisabetta Gnone, Alessandro Barbucci, and Barbara Canepa. The series was first published in Italy in April 2001 before the series was released in other countries. As of January 2005, W.I.T.C.H. has been released in over 65 countries. The final issue of W.I.T.C.H. was released on October 2012, concluding the series' 139 issue run.

The series tells the story of five teenage girls who are chosen to be the new Guardians of Kandrakar, protectors of the center of the universe from people and creatures who wish to cause harm to it. For this purpose, powers over the 5 classical elements have been given to them. The new guardians are Wilhemnia (Will), Iremae (Irma), Taranee, Corneliya, and Hay Lin, whose initials form the title acronym "W.I.T.C.H.".

Plot

It is about a group of girls who find out they are the new guardians of the elements earth; fire; water; air and energy.
