Soy milk

Soy milk is a plant milk produced by soaking dried soybeans and grinding them in water.

A traditional staple of East Asian cuisine, soy milk is a stable emulsion of oil, water and protein. Soy milk can be produced at home using a soy milk machine.

History

Soymilk (豆浆, doujiang) originated in China, probably during the early Han dynasty (202 BCE to 9 CE), after the rotary millstone was introduced and became widely used to grind wheat. It did not become widely used in China until the 1800s, when it was discovered that extended heating made it taste better and easier to digest.

Soymilk was introduced to the US market by Vitasoy in 1979; the first domestic manufacturer of soymilk was Sunrich Food Group, which introduced its products in 1985.

Name variations

There is a certain amount of confusion prevalent when it comes to beverages named soy beverage, soy drink or soy milk respectively. This is caused by several factors:

Soy (Debi Nova album)

Soy is the second studio album by Costa Rican singer-songwriter Debi Nova. The album began production in 2012, and was released in June 2014. Three tracks—"Un Día a la Vez", "Amor" and "Emergencia"—were released as singles. The official music video for the latter song was filmed on July 13, 2014, in Chile.

Soy (Ednita Nazario album)

"Soy" is the 21st studio album and 25 studio album recorded by Puerto Rican singer Ednita Nazario, it was released on October 27, 2009. As a rock musician, Ednita never ceases to amaze with their musical selections. And this time, is joined by some of the most important composers of the industry, including Rafael Esparza, Tommy Thompson, Claudia Brant, Samo (rock pop group Camila), and Mark Portman.

The Puerto Rican and also close friend of Ednita, Tommy Torres is also one of the producers who account this new album, scheduled to release October 27, 2009. Two other producers who collaborate with Ednita to make this project a flawless are Sebastian Krys and Graeme Pleeth.

The album had moderate success in comparison to her previous release.

The album debuted at #1 on Billboard Top Latin Albums, becoming her third album to debut at that position. Also the album notched the highest first-week sales for a female Latin act so far this year, surpassing Nelly Furtado's first-week sales for Mi Plan. The album so far has spent two weeks on top of the Billboard charts.

Soy (Cynthia album)

Soy is the debut CD by Cynthia. It was released on June 26, 2006. She said that the album 'is to sing in the car, or in a den at home and the single 'Soy' is a way to go to the public and say that I accept'. With the collaboration of Yahir the album won first place in the Desafio de Estrellas.

Milk (album)

Milk is an album by Hawksley Workman, released in 2010.

Unlike his album Meat, which was released in traditional album format on January 19, 2010, Milk was planned for release as a series of digital singles, made available for sale through iTunes and Workman's own website; however, the entire album was erroneously released to iTunes' United States store, but not its Canadian store, in January 2010. The album was officially released in CD format in Canada on August 10, 2010.

Milk (Korean band)

M.I.L.K. (Hangul: 밀크 Milk) was a K-pop girl group signed under SM Entertainment's sister label, BM Entertainment in 2001. They disbanded when Bae Yu-mi left the group in 2003. Now each member has gone off to do their own individual projects such as acting, singing, MCing, VJing, and modeling.

Seo Hyun-jin

Seo Hyun-jin was the lead singer of the group and was considered the best in dancing. She returned to the K-pop scene as a soloist. No official album or single has been confirmed, but she has already released four solo tracks featured on OSTs and the SM Town compilations. After starring as the leading lady in the TVXQ drama Dating on Earth, Seo became more active in recent years as an actress, appearing in the television series H.I.T, Hwang Jini, The Duo (for which she won Best New Actress at the 2011 MBC Drama Awards), and Feast of the Gods (for which she won Excellence Award in a Serial Drama at the 2012 MBC Drama Awards).

Kim Bo-mi

Kim Bo-mi gained popularity as the SM Town video vixen by starring as the lead female role in many SM artist's music videos before her debut with M.I.L.K. Now that the group has disbanded, she happens to be the least active. Her most recent work were roles in TVXQ dramas and some commercial work.
