Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1

Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 is the second solo album from British pop star George Michael (from this album on, stylised as George Michæl), released in September 1990.

The album was Michael's final album of all-new material on Columbia Records until 2004's Patience. It was the album's disappointing sales in the U.S. that led to Michael's legal battles against Sony Music, in which he accused the corporation of not fully supporting him as an artist.

History and project

After the massive success of Michael's 1987 Faith album, the expectations for his follow-up album were also high. In September 1990, Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 was released, receiving mixed-to-positive reviews (with the more dance-oriented Vol. 2 ostensibly scheduled to follow in June 1991). The album was a stark departure from the previous LP, with largely acoustic instrumentation and a sombre intensity in many of the lyrics and melodies.

George Michael wanted to be taken more seriously as a songwriter, which resulted in a more thoughtful, often moody recording. The album peaked at number two on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 albums chart. The first single released from the album was "Praying for Time", which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The second single "Freedom '90" reached No. 8 in the U.S., and in early Spring 1991, "Waiting for That Day" peaked at No. 27 in the U.S. "Mother's Pride" achieved Top 40 success outside the U.S., but received considerable airplay in the States during the Gulf War, despite its not being released as a single.

Brown Eyed Soul (band)

Brown Eyed Soul (hangul: 브라운 아이드 소울) is a four-member South Korean R&B group. Their main music genre is R&B, Soul, with some Korean Ballad melody.

History

Brown Eyed Soul released their debut album, Soul Free, on September 18, 2003. From it the single Jeongmal Saranghaesseulkka (정말 사랑했을까) topped the KBS charts in October of that year .

After their debut they took 4 years to record their second album The Wind, The Sea, The Rain, which was released on November 5, 2007. Their second album sold about 100,000 copies. It helped them win the R&B award at the 5th Korean Music awards in 2008.

In 2010, they made their comeback to the music industry by releasing the three singles I’ll Make Way, Blowin My Mind on April 7, Love Ballad, Never Forget on May 10, and Can’t Stop Lovin’ You on July 6. In the music video of the song I’ll Make Way (a.k.a. I’ll Move), besides the actress Lee Da-hae, all the Brown Eyed Soul members made their appearance together for the first time. This MV also came in 2 versions: one Black and White, and the other a Colour version.

Windows Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) is a web browser developed by Microsoft in the Internet Explorer browser series, released on March 19, 2009. It is the successor to Internet Explorer 7, released in 2006, and is the default browser for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 operating systems.

Internet Explorer 8 is the first version of IE to pass the Acid2 test, and the last of the major browsers to do so, although it scores 24/100 on the Acid3 Test. According to Microsoft, security, ease of use, and improvements in RSS, CSS, and Ajax support were its priorities for IE8.

Internet Explorer 8 is the last version of Internet Explorer to run on Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP; the following version, Internet Explorer 9, works only on Windows Vista and later. Support for Internet Explorer 8 is bound to the lifecycle of the Windows version it is installed on as it is considered an OS component, thus it is unsupported on Windows XP due to its end of extended support. Effective January 12, 2016, Internet Explorer 8 is no longer supported on any version of Windows, due to new policies specifying that only the newest version of IE available for a supported version of Windows will be supported.
