The Sōtetsu 9000 series (相鉄9000系 ) is a type of electric commuter train, or electric multiple units (EMUs), operated by Sagami Railway in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. They were constructed in 1993 to 2001 and were designed to connect as 10-car sets.

From 1993 to 2001, it was made by Tokyu Car Corporation (東急車輛製造) in Kanagawa Prefecture. A total of 70 cars were built. Before Sagami Railway had unified to order new EMUs from Hitachi, but 9000 series was ordered Tokyu. It's exceptional at that time.
This series is based on the Sōtetsu 8000 series, which was built from 1990 to 2000, together with this series. These two series replaced many ageing Sōtetsu 6000 series trains.
They have lightweight aluminum body, with white and red color painting (before the Sōtetsu trains were aluminum, the EMUs were painted not to rust, but they are clear of painting).
Commuter trains commonly use long seats. However, this series adopts cross, transverse seats in two cars in the formation.
This series has wheelchair spaces in 2 cars per formation, as in No. 8700 and 8500. Power windows, an unusual system in trains, were adopted until this series.
The motors in this series are based on 8000 series, so they can use the same system.
Motor cars are two cars as one pair. The 9100 car establishes a variable-frequency drive system, and the 9200 car establishes a compressor, etc. The motor power is 180 kW/h.
This series' motor-generator comes from the scrapped Sotetsu 6000 series. But the 8000 series has all new cars, as its difference.
The brake system is finished with Hitachi HSC and adopts brake by wire.
The bogie name is "TS-907" (for power cars) and "TS-908" (for others). The stand out uses disc brakes.
The safety system uses a dead man's switch and automatic train stop (ATS).
This series has 10-car sets only, as used for priority Express service (急行) and Rapid service (快速) daily. During rush hour, this series is used for Local service (各停), also.
A total of seventy cars have been built, and all are in use.
