21st Special Operations Squadron

The 21st Special Operations Squadron is a unit within the 352d Special Operations Group (352 SOG), United States Air Force, United States European Command, and was based at Royal Air Force base RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk, eastern England.

Mission

The 21st Special Operations Squadron, which fell under the 352nd Special Operations Group, RAF Mildenhall, UK, was inactivated on 31 October 2007 with the inactivation ceremony taking place at RAF Mildenhall, UK on 9 October temporarily ending the Air Force Special Operations vertical lift mission in Europe.

The inactivation of the Dust Devils was the first step in preparation for the arrival of the CV-22 tilt-rotor aircraft.

The 21st Special Operations Squadron's mission consisted of day or night, all-weather, low-level penetration of denied territory to provide infiltration, exfiltration, resupply, or fire support for elite air, ground, and naval forces. The unique capabilities of the MH-53J permitted the squadron to operate from unprepared landing zones.

8th Special Operations Squadron

The 8th Special Operations Squadron (8 SOS) is a squadron of the United States Air Force. It is assigned to the 1st Special Operations Wing, Air Force Special Operations Command, stationed at Hurlburt Field, Florida. The squadron is equipped with the CV-22 Osprey in support of special operations.

The 8 SOS is one of the oldest units in the United States Air Force, being organized as the 8th Aero Squadron on 21 June 1917 at Kelly Field, Texas. The squadron deployed to France and fought on the Western Front during World War I, equipped with United States-built Dayton-Wright DH-4, being used as reconnaissance aircraft.

During World War II, the squadron fought in the Southwest Pacific Area with Fifth Air Force as an attack and later B-25 Mitchell medium bomber squadron. During the Cold War, it fought in the Korean War with B-26 Invader medium bombers and Vietnam War as a B-57 Canberra medium bomber and later as an Air Commando squadron with A-37 Dragonfly counter-insurgency aircraft.

Apple SOS

The Sophisticated Operating System, or SOS /ˈsɔːs/, is the primary operating system developed for the Apple III computer. The system was developed by Apple Computer, Inc. and released in 1980. SOS makes the resources of the Apple III available in the form of a menu-driven utility program as well as a programming API.

The Apple III System Utilities program shipped with each Apple III computer. It provided what today would be called the end user "experience" of the operating system if the user were running it instead of an application program. SOS was a single-tasking operating system. A single program is loaded at boot time, called the interpreter. Once running, the interpreter could then use the SOS application programming interface to make requests of the system. The SOS API was divided into four main areas:

The following is a list of episodes of the 1980s animated television series M.A.S.K. The series ran for two seasons in 1985 and 1986. No origin episode ever aired. A mini-comic was released with the toys that told the origin of MASK and how Miles Mayhem had a falling out with Matt Trakker and his brother.

Blackout (Dropkick Murphys album)

Blackout is the fourth studio album by Dropkick Murphys, released in 2003.

The album was released with a DVD, which contained live videos for "Rocky Road to Dublin" and "Boys on the Docks", a music video for "Gonna Be a Blackout Tonight", and a trailer for their then upcoming untitled full-length DVD, which became On the Road With the Dropkick Murphys and released the following year in March 2004. The album was also released in a condensed format on 10" vinyl. It had five songs from the album as well as a cover of AC/DC's "It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll)" which was later released on Singles Collection, Volume 2. A music video for "Walk Away", the album's first official single was also released. The song went on to become a minor radio hit and received some minor airplay on MTV.

History

"The Dirty Glass" was originally featured on the 2002 split Face to Face vs. Dropkick Murphys and re-recorded for the album with the band's then merchandise seller, Stephanie Dougherty, who shared vocals with Ken Casey and also appeared on the album's final track, "Kiss Me, I'm Shitfaced". The track "Time to Go", a homage to the Boston Bruins, was featured Tony Hawk's Underground and "NHL 2005". The track "This Is Your Life" was featured in the 2003 video game Backyard Wrestling: Don't Try This at Home.

Fictional character biography

Marcus Daniels

Marcus Daniels was born in Flushing, Queens, New York City. He was working as a laboratory assistant to Dr. Abner Croit, a physicist hoping to build a device capable of tapping into energies from other dimensions. Croit always looked down on Daniels’ inferior knowledge, making him feel useless. Daniels always wondered what it would be like to harness the energy they were researching, to be powerful. After an accident bathed him in the extra-dimensional energy of the Darkforce, he had the chance to find out. Calling himself Blackout, his body was now flushed with power, becoming a surface of control of the Darkforce dimension. However, despite his powers threatening to go out of control, he escaped from Croit's attempts to cure him and fled.

Blackout returned to the laboratories, however, as he needed the stabilizer device to control his energies. But he also returned to find revenge on Croit— Blackout's sanity began to suffer as well. He believed Croit was researching energies from "Black Stars" and that his body now generated such energy. He further believed that Croit was defrauding the government with his research and had bribed a judge to frame him for stealing his secrets. Instead of an accident causing his powers, Daniels thought Dr. Croit willfully subjected him to an experiment in exchange for dropping charges against him.
