Sorry (Easybeats song)

"Sorry" is a 1966 song and single by Australian rock group The Easybeats, which was written by band members George Young and Stevie Wright. It peaked at #1 on the Australian Go-Set's National Top 40 in mid November 1966. It remained at #1 on the Australian Charts for 2 weeks in November 1966.

Releases

In addition to its 7" single release in October 1966, the song was issued on an EP in September 1967, along with the tracks "Friday On My Mind", "Who'll Be the One" and "Made My Bed, Gonna Lie in It". It was also the lead track on the Easybeat's third and last LP Volume 3, which they recorded in Australia, prior to moving to England.

An adaptation by American alternative rock group The Three O'Clock appears on the album Sixteen Tambourines (1983) and has been featured in the live performances of the band in the 2013 tour. Bassist Michael Quercio introduces it as part of the Australian influence on the band.

Una Theresa Imogene Foden (née Healy; 10 October 1981) is an Irish singer-songwriter, musician, and a television presenter. She rose to fame in 2008 as a member of the 5 member English–Irish girl group The Saturdays, signed to Fascination and Polydor Records. The group have achieved substantial success with numerous top-ten hits as well as a hit number one single entitled 'What About Us'. In October 2014, it was confirmed that she would become a judge on The Voice of Ireland.

Early life

Foden was born in Thurles, to Anne, a nurse, and John Healy, a GP. She has a sister named Deirdre. She comes from a musical background, and is the niece of country singer Declan Nerney. She is a cousin of Irish athlete Paul Hession. At the age of 13, she gave up swimming (she was an All-Ireland champion swimmer at nine) and decided to teach herself to play using her mother's guitar and from then on began to write songs of her own.

Matisse (band)

Matisse is an English language-singing alternative rock band from Athens, Greece formed in 1999. They took their name from the famous French painter Henri Matisse.

Biography

Early history (1999-2002)

Matisse was originally formed in 1999 by Aris Siafas, John Massouras, Andreas Ioannou and Petros Tsolis without making any significant actions as a band. The band became active, when they started performing and writing songs for the first time in January 1999. In the beginning of their career the band was making live performances, mostly in small venues in Athens. Still though, they didn't have enough money for recordings. Matisse have also supported many acts including Reamonn, Puressence, Shed Seven, The Frank and Walters, Drugstore. While recruiting keyboardist Kostas Synodinos they continued with the occasional live show and demo, until they signed a contract with Sony Greece in 2002. By winter of 2002, they began recording their EP 4 (Four), which was released in the summer of 2003. Days before the release, Ioannou left the band and was replaced by Grigoris Kollias (Greggy K).

Brittany Smith, better known by her stage name Matisse, is an American actress, model, singer, and songwriter. She was best known for being part of the duo Brit & Alex (with twin sister Alex), up until their breakup in 2009. Matisse is currently signed to Jive Records. On October 7, 2011 labels such as J Records and Arista were sold to Sony's Flagship Label and all artists such as P!nk and Avril Lavigne were merged to sign to RCA Records and other affiliated Sony Music Labels. Matisse was merged to sign to RCA as of 2011; she is currently with Interscope, but no longer with the now-defunct Jive Records.

Career

Smith began appearing on TV at six months of age on “One Life to Live” and by the age of 15 she was a popular spokesmodel for the successful hair care brand John Frieda and signed to The Ford Agency. During this tenure she and identical twin sister Alexia formed the pop duo Brit & Alex, where they became famous for appearing in TV commercials for John Freida's Sheer Blonde line (where they would be known to fans as "The Sheer Blonde Twins") and later signed with Interscope Records. They also went to England in the hopes of establishing a musical career there, but would achieve little success, having reached number 75 on the UK Pop Chart with Let It Go in 2008.
