Solus Deus

Solus Deus is a Death metal project from, Orange County, California. All of the musicians have been in other bands, such as Bleed the Sky, Living Sacrifice, Chimaira, Time Spent Burning, The Elite, and Once to Die. The band's second EP, The Bloodtrail has received positive reviews. The band's name means "Only God", which Vocalist Jey Collins says is personal to him. Certain members in Solus Deus have their own personal beliefs. However, Solus Deus does not claim to be a religious band.

Soluntum

Soluntum or Solus (Greek: Σολόεις, Thuc.; Σολοῦς, Diod.: Eth. Σολουντῖνος, Diod., but coins have Σολοντῖνος; Italian Solunto) was an ancient city of Sicily, one of the three chief Phoenician settlements in the island, situated on the north coast, about 16 kilometres (10 mi) east of Panormus (modern Palermo), and immediately to the east of the bold promontory called Capo Zafferano. It lay 183 metres (600 ft) above sea level, on the southeast side of Monte Catalfano 373 metres (1,225 ft), in a naturally strong situation, and commanding a fine view. Some scholars contend that Soluntum and Solus were two different cities at close quarters, Soluntum, higher upon the hillside, being a later habitation displacing the earlier settlement of Solus, at a lower elevation. Its current site is at the località of Sòlanto in the comune of Santa Flavia.

Sabre I

The first Sabre was a former knife thrower named Paul Richarde until he was selected by Modred to oppose Black Knight. Paul Richarde was given an armor, an animated gargoyle. and Mordred's Ebony Dagger (the weapon with which Mordred had killed the first Black Knight). He was defeated by Black Knight after his horse Aragorn kicked the dagger from Le Sabre's hand.

Sabre II

The second Sabre is a mutant super villain. His first appearance was in X-Men #106. Young and reckless, Sabre was chosen by Mystique to join her new Brotherhood of Mutants, though never actually participated in any missions. He had the mutant ability of super speed, and took the name of the deceased Super Sabre. It is unknown if he continues to serve Mystique behind the scenes, or if he even retains his powers after Decimation. Hyper-accelerated metabolism augments his natural speed, reflexes, coordination, endurance, and the healing properties of his body.

Solus (comics)

Solus was an American comic book series written by Barbara Kesel and illustrated by George Pérez. It was published by CrossGen Entertainment from April to December 2003. It ran for eight issues until it was cancelled when Crossgen went bankrupt in 2004. Solus was a late comer to the Crossgen line-up but was a pivotal title within the overall Sigilverse history.

Plot synopsis

Solus told a story which was integral to the Sigilverse.

The main character, Solusandra, was the creator of the Sigil-Bearers. She was an Atlantean who had undergone transition. She was allowed to "play" in a part of the galaxy and she used her powers to create The First, demi-gods with great powers. The strongest of these demi-gods and her special friend was Altwaal. She gave Altwaal seven weapons, called Altwaal's Weapons, which seem to be the most powerful artifacts in the galaxy. Not long after she created the First, she left them (for reasons never explained) and so when she returned (in Solus #5) she was not recognized.

Deus

Deus (Latin pronunciation: [ˈdeːʊs]) is Latin for "god" or "deity". Latin deus and dīvus "divine", are descended from Proto-Indo-European *deiwos, "celestial" or "shining", from the same root as *Dyēus, the reconstructed chief god of the Proto-Indo-European pantheon. Compare Greek Zeus (Ζεύς dzeus; Aeolic Greek Δεύς deus) and Sanskrit देव deva. Latin dies ("day") is considered to have derived from the same PIE root that originated deus. This is to say that a celestial shining body, the Sun, gives material form to the words for "day" in the Romance Languages.

In Classical Latin, deus (feminine dea) was a general nounreferring to a deity, while in technical usage a divus or diva was a figure who had become divine, such as a divinized emperor. In Late Latin, Deus came to be used mostly for the Christian God. It was inherited by the Romance languages in French Dieu, Spanish Dios, Portuguese and Galician Deus, Italian Dio, etc, and by the Celtic languages in Welsh Duw and Irish Dia.

Deus (Hebrew: דאוס) is a Science fiction on Israeli television about a "human" software Deus, and about the Hacker's world. The show runs on Arutz HaYeladim (The Kids' Channel).

Background

Deus is an Internet bot with Artificial intelligence, and has full control over the computer, the software was given free for all the people on a USB. The software has human feels and interacts with the PC user with a Webcam. All of the software is controlled from one Deus in a secret room inside the High tech. The software starts to have a full control over the world and the Deus sees everything, the humans start a war versus the software.

Deus (video game)

Deus is a 1996 survival simulation game developed by Silmarils and published by ReadySoft. It is the sequel to Robinson's Requiem. The player again assumes the role of Robinson's Requiem protagonist Officer Trepliev, who has become a bounty hunter for the Alien World Exploration department. The player's goal is to save a scientific research station from a group of terrorists called the New Crusaders. Like Robinson's Requiem, the game features complex health monitoring and surgery systems; however, the game now contains an optional "action mode", which removes these systems.

Deus' critical reception was mixed. Computer Gaming World found the realism of the simulation mode to be overwhelming, and described the game's action mode as "dull".PC Gamer US's Scott Wolf said that the game's "[i]rritations [...] outweigh any enjoyment you might find".PC Gamer UK offered a dissenting opinion; despite calling the initial learning curve "alpine", the reviewer wrote, "After a while [...] Deus suddenly starts being fun. You begin to get the hang of the interface, and start to get into the plot".
