Sohail Khan

Sohail Khan (born 20 December 1969) is an Indian film actor, director and producer who works predominantly in Hindi cinema. He is the younger brother of actors Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan. He produces films under his banner Sohail Khan Productions.

Early life

Sohail Khan was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra to screenwriter Salim Khan and his wife Sushila Charak (Salma Khan). His paternal family is Muslim and is settled in Indore, Madhya Pradesh while his mother is a Hindu. His stepmother, Salim Khan's second wife, is actress Helen. His older brothers are Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan who is married to Malaika Arora Khan who is an actress, VJ and host. His sister, Alvira Khan, is married to Bollywood director Atul Agnihotri, while his younger sister Arpita Khan collaborated with Sneha Ullal for his movie Lucky: No Time for Love, which he produced with Sohail Khan Productions.

Career

Sohail started his career as a film producer and director making his directorial debut with the 1997 action thriller Auzaar which starred his brother Salman and Sanjay Kapoor. He then directed both of his brothers Salman and Arbaaz in the hit film Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya (1998) and the more successful Hello Brother (1999) under his earlier banner G.S. Entertainment.

Sohail Khan (cricketer)

Sohail Khan (Pashto: سہیل خان, born 6 March 1984), is a Pakistani cricketer. A right-arm fast bowler, he gained instant recognition during his debut first-class season in 2007 when he broke Fazal Mahmood's record for the best bowling figures by a Pakistani in a first-class match. Shortly afterwards he made his international debut, in an ODI against Zimbabwe.Sohail Khan is part of team for 2015 Cricket world Cup.

Early and personal life

Sohail was born and raised in Sakhakot Malakand Division in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He played tennis-ball cricket from a young age and bowled at a lively pace, something he says he owes to the muscle strength he built up from throwing stones and swimming in rivers and streams present in the mountainous environment. Sohail Khan Productions is an Indian motion picture production and distribution company, based in Mumbai. The company was founded in 2004 by actor Sohail Khan, younger brother of actor Salman Khan. As of 2014 the company had produced nine films.

History

Sohail Khan Productions first film was I - Proud to Be an Indian, which was unsuccessful. Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya?, with Khan and his brother Salman Khan, was more successful. Khan wrote, produced and acted in Fight Club - Members Only (2006), which did not do well at the box office.

Khan produced live stage shows around the world with various Indian film stars. His company also produced music videos and a television with programme, 'Chehre Pe Chehra', was directed by Rishi Vohra.

The company produced movie Partner, directed by David Dhawan starring Salman Khan, Govinda, Katrina Kaif and Lara Dutta. It was released on 20 July 2007. Two films, Kisaan and Main Aur Mrs Khanna, were produced in 2009, but were unprofitable; Wanted was profitble..
