Anywhere but Here is the second studio album by American rock band Mayday Parade. In January 2009 the band started writing Anywhere but Here, working with several co-writers. The band signed to Atlantic in March 2009. Later that month, the band started recording at House of Loud in Elmwood Park, New Jersey. The album's production was handled by producer David Bendeth. "The Silence" was released as a single in August and was followed by Anywhere but Here, released through Fearless Records, a couple of months later. "Kids in Love" was released as a single in May 2010. "Anywhere but Here" was released as a single in September.
Vocalist/guitarist Jason Lancaster left the band in March 2007 citing a lack of writing credit on the band's releases. Bassist Jeremy Lenzo and drummer Jake Bundrick filled in for Lancaster's vocals, while guitarists Alex Garcia and Brooks Betts perform the guitar parts Lancaster did. The band's debut album, A Lesson in Romantics, was released in July through Fearless. On March 31, 2009 it was announced the band had signed to Atlantic.
"So Far Away" is a power ballad by American band Staind. It was released in June 2003 as the second single from their fourth album 14 Shades of Grey. The song enjoyed much success on both rock and mainstream radio, reaching #1 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks for fourteen consecutive weeks, one of the longest runs in the chart's history, and #1 on the Modern Rock Tracks for seven non-consecutive weeks. The song also became the band's second Top 40 Hit on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #24. "So Far Away" was also used in trailer footage of The Punisher before the movie was released, although it was not included on the soundtrack. WWE have used this song in one of their Tribute To The Troops videos for 2007, as well as for a video tribute to Mick Foley. The song was also featured in an episode of Smallvilleand is included on Disc 1 of the ″"Ultimate Smallville Soundtrack"″ 5 disc box set.
"So Far Away" one of the few songs in rock played in the 6/8 time signature, it has been described by critics as "an honest and grateful musing on success"; fans however feel that the song represents Aaron Lewis moving on in life and speaking of hope and uncertainty, along with the running theme of 14 Shades of Grey.

Far is the fifth studio album by American alternative singer-songwriter Regina Spektor, released in Europe through Sire Records on June 22, 2009 and North America on June 23, 2009 The album's first single, "Laughing With", was uploaded to Spektor's MySpace page on May 8 and was released as a digital download on May 18 in the United States and parts of Europe, along with the b-side "Blue Lips". Two viral videos for "Dance Anthem of the 80s" and "Eet" were also released on Spektor's MySpace account. The official music video for "Laughing With" was released on iTunes on May 26, 2009. A special edition of the album was released with two bonus tracks and a DVD, which included four music videos.
Spektor decided to work with multiple producers on the album. She has compared composing an album to taking a class, and as such, she wanted to have "multiple professors". She also felt the multiple producers would allow them not to worry what the single or big hit would be. The most notable producers include David Kahne, who produced her last album Begin to Hope, and Jeff Lynne, former member of Electric Light Orchestra and The Traveling Wilburys. Although Lynne has an expansive musical background, Spektor did not know of his work when she originally met him.
Here I am again in this mean old town
And you're so far away from me
And where are you when the sun go down?
You're so far away from me
You're so far away from me
So far I just can't see
You're so far away from me
You're so far away from me, alright
I'm tired of bein' in love and bein' all alone
When you're so far away from me
I'm tired of makin' out on the telephone
'Cause you're so far away from me
You're so far away from me
You're so far I just can't see
You're so far away from me
You're so far away from me, alright
And I get so tired when I have to explain
When you're so far away from me
See you've been in the sun and I've been in the rain
And you're so far away from me
You're so far away from me
You're so far I just can't see
You're so far away from me
You're so far away from me, take it down
So far away from me
Oh, you're so far away from me
Yeah, you're so far away from me
So far away from me
And you're so far away from me
So far away from me
So far away from me
You're so far away from me
You're so far away from me
So far away from me
So far away from me
You're so far away from me
Alright
