The Huntsman: Winter's War is an upcoming British-American dark fantasy action-adventure film, and is a prequel/sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman, based on the characters from the German fairy tale "Snow White" compiled by the Brothers Grimm, as well as "The Snow Queen" by Hans Christian Andersen. It is the directing debut of Cedric Nicolas-Troyan, who acted as visual effects supervisor on the first film, and is written by Craig Mazin, Martin Solibakke and Evan Spiliotopoulos. The film stars Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Sam Claflin and Nick Frost reprising their roles, along with newcomers Emily Blunt, Jessica Chastain and Colin Morgan. Principal photography began on April 6, 2015. The film is scheduled to be released on April 22, 2016.
Long before the birth of Snow White, the evil Queen Ravenna ruled as the fairest in the land. But when her younger sister, the kind and loving Freya, gives birth to a baby girl destined to vanquish Ravenna as the most beautiful in the kingdom, Ravenna destroys the child, drowning Freya in grief and resulting in a deadly power that has the ability to freeze any enemy. Determined to unleash her vengeance on her sister, Freya builds an army, training warriors from a young age to fight for her cause and asking of them only one thing: forever harden your hearts to love.
"Snow White" is a German fairy tale known across much of Europe and is today one of the most famous fairy tales worldwide. The Brothers Grimm published it in 1812 in the first edition of their collection Grimms' Fairy Tales. It was titled in German: Sneewittchen (in modern orthography Schneewittchen) and numbered as Tale 53. The Grimms completed their final revision of the story in 1854.
The fairy tale features such elements as the magic mirror, the poisoned apple, the glass coffin, matricide, filicide, and the characters of the Evil Queen, Snow White's evil stepmother, the huntsman, a beautiful princess named Snow White into a sleeping enchantment, a handsome prince and the seven dwarfs. The seven dwarfs were first given individual names in the 1912 Broadway play Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and then given different names in Walt Disney's 1937 film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The Grimm story, which is commonly referred to as "Snow White", should not be confused with the story of "Snow White and Rose Red" (in German "Schneeweißchen und Rosenrot"), another fairy tale collected by the Brothers Grimm.
Princess Snow White is a fictional character and a main character from Walt Disney Productions' first animated feature film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The character of Snow White was derived from a fairy tale known from many countries in Europe, the best-known version being the Bavarian one collected by the Brothers Grimm. Snow White is the first Disney Princess and the first fictional female character with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She was originally voiced by Adriana Caselotti.
Animators' initial sketches for Snow White's character, some of which bore a resemblance to Betty Boop, did not meet Walt Disney's expectations, as they were too cartoonish.
Hamilton Luske, whom Walt Disney had selected as the supervising animator for Snow White's character, was tasked with the challenge of making Snow White more believably human and realistic than any of the Disney studio's previous animated characters. This was a challenge Luske and co-animator Les Clark had previously been asked to explore while developing the character of Persephone for the Silly Symphonies animated short The Goddess of Spring. Of that project, Les Clark later remarked, "I'm sure Walt was thinking ahead to Snow White." Though the Persephone character ended up appearing somewhat lifeless and devoid of personality, that experiment in imitating realistic human movement and anatomy was continued and its lessons were applied in the development of Snow White's animation techniques.
This is a list of characters that appear in the Shrek franchise and spin-offs from it.
Shrek (voiced by Mike Myers, singing voice provided by Michael Gough) is the lead character in of all of the films. He prides himself on being a big, green, terrifying ogre and is bad tempered and irritable. He begins the series as an unsociable hermit until he meets his soon-to-be best friend, Donkey. In a deal with Lord Farquaad, he and Donkey embark on a quest to save Princess Fiona from the castle in which she was confined. Despite their differences, Shrek and Fiona fall in love, marry at the end of the first film, and have three ogre babies in the third film. Chris Farley was originally set to play Shrek, but he died before he could complete film (he finished 80-90% of the film or according to his brother Tom, 95%).
In Monsters vs. Aliens: Mutant Pumpkins from Outer Space, a woman mistakes The Missing Link as Shrek.
Donkey (voiced by Eddie Murphy) is a miniature talking donkey. He is Shrek's annoying but good-hearted best friend, Dragon's husband and father of the Dronkeys.
The Huntsman was the winner of the 1862 Grand National steeplechase run on March 12 at Aintree near Liverpool, England. The winner was owned by Viscount de Namur and trained in France by Yorkshire born trainer Henry (Harry) Jeremiah Lamplugh who also chose to ride the horse himself. The Huntsman had previously finished third in the race in 1859 and second in 1860.
The Huntsman had left Chantilly in February 1861 under the care of Lamplugh to spend a year at Doncaster preparing for the Grand National.
Thirteen ran, with the previous year's winner Jealousy being withdrawn on the morning of the race. The Huntsman came to the final fence with only one other horse in with a chance of beating him, Bridegroom, ridden by Richard Sherrard. The Huntsman had more to offer than his rival and went on up the run in to become the first French trained winner of the race. Five horses completed the course although the third placed Romeo had refused at the third last fence while fifth placed Bucephalus had been virtually brought down in the early stages and finished tailed off from his rivals.
[Verse 1]
Yea I sit beneath a plaster moon
Puff puff pass the gloom and watch the ashes bloom
Black balloons float above me singing saddest tunes
Like no one loves me but that can't be true
I never show my ugly attributes, I'd rather choose
To expose my sunny plastic moods, so after you
I know that crummy sulken frumpy, oh-so-grumpy attitude
Over something nobody can have but you
[Bridge X5]
You're such a mess
And plus your nose is bloody
[Hook x2]
Does anybody ever really want to know why I
Always leave the party when we say bye-bye
With a cyanide taste and a mai tai chase
And another trail of blood when the pipeline breaks
And she's always got to listen to the rhythm of the wicked
When I give her my attention try to fix it but the fix is
Just a little bigger litter better little more to benefit
An addict when I can't afford the habit that you chose
[Verse 2]
Yea you wait in line to take a line
A powdered nose and some make-up might erase the strife
So take your time wait until you taste the sky
To take your flight cloudy headed let it fade to white
I'd wake up night after night after night after night
While you'd take another line after line after line after line
Little little lovable drift into this puff of smoke
Something so innocent is getting into such a hole
Yea you huff and blow to huff some blow
Lovely Snow White why'd I find your touch so cold
You look so comfortable but pretty with your bloody nose
And you're still thinking that nobody knows
You're such a mess
[Hook]
[Outro X9]
Sleep back to back in the shape of a butterfly
