Snooki & Jwoww

Snooki & Jwoww (sometimes rendered Snooki & JWOWW in print and online sources) is an American reality television series on MTV starring Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jennifer "JWoww" Farley. It is the second of three spin-offs of Jersey Shore, on which both Polizzi and Farley previously gained fame as cast members. The series ran from June 21, 2012 until February 4, 2015 over four seasons. The series, which is executive produced by Jersey Shore producer SallyAnn Salsano of 495 Productions, is described by its stars as a modern-day Laverne & Shirley.

The first season focuses on Polizzi and Farley living together in a former firehouse in Jersey City, New Jersey, though Polizzi's pregnancy, which was confirmed during filming of the first season, led to a change in episode content and tone that would distance it from the party-oriented antics of its parent show. Filming began on the first season February 25, 2012, and lasted five weeks. A second season was confirmed on August 3, 2012, and premiered on January 8, 2013. On April 25, 2013, MTV renewed the series for a third season, which premiered on October 22, 2013. On April 24, 2014, the series was renewed for the fourth and final season, which premiered on November 5, 2014, and concluded on February 4, 2015.

Snooki

Nicole Elizabeth "Snooki" LaValle (née Polizzi; born November 23, 1987) is a Chilean-American reality television personality and dancer who is best known for being a cast member of the MTV reality show Jersey Shore and starring in Snooki & Jwoww. Since the show's debut in 2009, Polizzi has gained popularity by appearing on talks shows including The View, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Late Show with David Letterman, and The Wendy Williams Show. She earned $150,000 per Jersey Shore episode, as of season five. She also appeared as the guest hostess for WWE Raw in 2011 and competed at WrestleMania XXVII that same year.

Personal life

Polizzi was born in Santiago, Chile. She was adopted when she was six months old and was raised by Italian American parents. Polizzi's father is a volunteer firefighter and auto-salvage supervisor and her mother is an office manager. Polizzi lives in Florham Park, New Jersey.

Polizzi received her nickname, Snooki, in middle school when her friends named her after "Snookie", a male character in Save the Last Dance, because she was the first of her friends to kiss a boy. She grew up and attended school in Marlboro, New York, where she was a cheerleader. During high school, she suffered from an eating disorder, at one point weighing 80 pounds (36 kg). Polizzi attended community college after graduating from Marlboro High School, where she studied to become a veterinary technician.

JWoww

Jennifer Lynn "Jenni" Farley (born February 27, 1986), also known as JWoww, is an American television personality. She first came to prominence as one of the eight main cast members in the MTV reality series Jersey Shore, and is a main cast member of its spin-off, Snooki & JWoww. She has also made several appearances on other shows, such as TNA Impact! and Disaster Date. She and her fiancé are currently cast members on Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars. JWoww also promotes a line of suntanning products with the Australian Gold Company.

Early life

Farley was born in Franklin Square, New York. She attended Columbia High School, in East Greenbush, New York, and New York Institute of Technology. She is of Spanish and Irish descent. Before starting her career, she spent time working as a nanny for small children.

Career

Before coming onto Jersey Shore, Farley owned a graphic design business, Jenni Farley Designs, Inc. In December 2009, at the age of 23 years, Farley began appearing in Jersey Shore in which she and seven other housemates spent the summer in the Seaside Heights of New Jersey. The second season was filmed in Miami, Florida, and then the third season returned to New Jersey. A fourth season of the series was filmed in Florence, Italy, and the final two seasons moved back to Seaside Heights.
