Charmed is an American television series created by Constance M. Burge and produced by Aaron Spelling and his production company Spelling Television, with Brad Kern serving as showrunner. The series was originally broadcast by The WB for eight seasons from October 7, 1998, until May 21, 2006. The series narrative follows three sisters, known as The Charmed Ones, the most powerful good witches of all time, who use their combined "Power of Three" to protect innocent lives from evil beings such as demons and warlocks. Each sister possesses unique magical powers that grow and evolve, while they attempt to maintain normal lives in modern-day San Francisco. Keeping their supernatural identities separate and secret from their ordinary lives often becomes a challenge for them, with the exposure of magic having far-reaching consequences on their various relationships and resulting in a number of police and FBI investigations throughout the series. The first three seasons of Charmed focus on the three Halliwell sisters, Prue (Shannen Doherty), Piper (Holly Marie Combs) and Phoebe (Alyssa Milano). Following the death of Prue in the third season finale, their long-lost half sister Paige Matthews (Rose McGowan) assumes her place within the "Power of Three" from season four onwards.
Volume 1 is from Issue 0 to Issue 5. It is set 18 months after the last episode of Charmed. Set eighteen-months after Forever Charmed, the sisters are now living happy demon free lives and have each entered into motherhood. Piper has had a third child, a girl named Prudence Melinda and is planning on opening her own restaurant. Phoebe has had her first daughter with Coop named Prue and is preparing to return to work. Paige has had twin girls with Henry Mitchell and is also working as a whitelighter and is seen helping Leo at Magic School with his students. Meanwhile two new warlocks named Neena and Hogan begin implementing a plan to revive one of the sisters' greatest foes.
When Piper and Phoebe attend the funeral of Brittany, the first innocent that they ever saved, they discover that she had mysteriously transformed into an elderly woman just as she was when she fell victim to Javna. Meanwhile Paige visits her latest charge, a high school bully named Brent who is a witch. She shows him one of many entrances to Magic School, and informs him of the 48 hour window in which a new witch must decide if they are to be a good witch or turn to the side of evil. As she leaves, the warlocks Neena and Hogan arrive, leaving him dead outside of the school's entrance. Back at the manor, while searching the Book for clues to Brittany's death, Phoebe receives a powerful premonition which shows her that every single innocent and charge saved by the sisters over the past nine and a half years is in grave danger.
The fourth season of Charmed, an American supernatural drama television series, began airing on October 4, 2001 on The WB. Airing on Thursdays at 9:00 pm, the season consisted of 22 episodes and concluded its airing on May 16, 2002. This season also saw the introduction of Rose McGowan as Paige Matthews—half-sister to Prue, Piper and Phoebe—and a slight alteration of the opening credits, due to the third season departure of Shannen Doherty as Prue. Paramount Home Entertainment released the complete fourth season in a six-disc boxed set on February 28, 2006.
Following Prue's death, this season brings the arrival of Paige Matthews - half sister to the Halliwell's. Their mother Patty had a love affair with her Whitelighter, Sam, and discovered she was pregnant. Knowing she would never be able to keep the baby she gave her child to a local church so she would be given to a kind family.
Piper and Phoebe are trying to cope with their Prue's death, learning to accept and teach Paige the ways of witchcraft while learning how to use their own expanding growing powers. They also focus on destroying The Source once and for all. Phoebe and Cole go through many difficulties in their relationship, such as Cole finding his place once he becomes human. The Charmed Ones must also deal with the new positions they find themselves in; Paige goes from being an only child to having two siblings as well as trying to fill the shoes of Prue, Piper must deal with becoming the oldest sister and head witch giving her more responsibility, and Phoebe, who previously had been care-free, becomes the middle sister and must mediate between her two sisters, as well as starting her first full-time job as an advice columnist.
Snakes are elongated, legless, carnivorous reptiles of the suborder Serpentes that can be distinguished from legless lizards by their lack of eyelids and external ears. Like all squamates, snakes are ectothermic, amniote vertebrates covered in overlapping scales. Many species of snakes have skulls with several more joints than their lizard ancestors, enabling them to swallow prey much larger than their heads with their highly mobile jaws. To accommodate their narrow bodies, snakes' paired organs (such as kidneys) appear one in front of the other instead of side by side, and most have only one functional lung. Some species retain a pelvic girdle with a pair of vestigial claws on either side of the cloaca.
Living snakes are found on every continent except Antarctica, and on most smaller land masses — exceptions include some large islands, such as Ireland and New Zealand, and many small islands of the Atlantic and central Pacific. Additionally, sea snakes are widespread throughout the Indian and Pacific Oceans. More than 20 families are currently recognized, comprising about 500 genera and about 3,400 species. They range in size from the tiny, 10 cm-long thread snake to the reticulated python of up to 6.95 meters (22.8 ft) in length. The fossil species Titanoboa cerrejonensis was 13 meters (43 ft) long. Snakes are thought to have evolved from either burrowing or aquatic lizards, perhaps during the Jurassic period, with the earliest known fossils dating to between 143 and 167 Ma ago. The diversity of modern snakes appeared during the Paleocene period (c 66 to 56 Ma ago). The oldest preserved descriptions of snakes can be found in the Brooklyn Papyrus.
The Snake (蛇) is one of the 12-year cycle of animals which appear in the Chinese zodiac and related to the Chinese calendar, as well as in related East Asian zodiacal or calendrical systems. The Year of the Snake is associated with the Earthly Branch symbol 巳.
According to one mythical legend, there is a reason for the order of the 12 animals in the 12-year cycle. The story goes that a race was held to cross a great river, and the order of the animals in the cycle was based upon their order in finishing the race. In this story, the Snake compensated for not being the best swimmer by hitching a hidden ride on the Horse's hoof, and when the Horse was just about to cross the finish line, jumping out, scaring the Horse, and thus edging it out for sixth place.
The same 12 animals are also used to symbolize the cycle of hours in the day, each being associated with a two-hour time period. The "hour" of the Snake is 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., the time when the sun warms up the earth, and Snakes are said to slither out of their holes.
An audio multicore cable (often colloquially referred to in America as a snake cable or just a snake) is a cable which contains from 4 to 64 individual audio cables inside a common outer jacket. Audio multicore cables are widely used whenever multiple audio signals, for example from a number of microphones, need to be conveyed between common locations. Typical professional audio applications include audio recording, sound reinforcement, and broadcasting.
The term can be used to refer to the basic cable as may be obtained from a supplier, or a cable with the ends terminated in either a multipin connector, a number of separate connectors on the individual pairs, or a box or panel with a number of chassis-mounted connectors. Different termination methods can be used on each end to suit the application. When individual connectors are used, three pin XLR connectors are most common, although 1/4" jack connectors are also occasionally used.
Assembled audio multicore cables are found in both portable applications, where they are stored loose or on a cable drum, or are permanently installed in a building.
