"Snafu" is the seventh episode of the first season of the American television series Agent Carter, inspired by the films Captain America: The First Avenger and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and the Marvel One-Shot short film also titled Agent Carter. It features the Marvel Comics character Peggy Carter as she must face coworkers, who she has deceived while working a secret mission, and is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sharing continuity with the films of the franchise. The episode was written by Chris Dingess and directed by Vincent Misiano.
Hayley Atwell reprises her role as Carter from the film series, and is joined by regular cast members James D'Arcy, Chad Michael Murray, Enver Gjokaj, and Shea Whigham.
"Snafu" originally aired on ABC on February 17, 2015, and according to Nielsen Media Research, was watched by 4.15 million viewers.
As Carter is resisting interrogation at the SSR, Jarvis appears with a fake signed confession from Stark, promising surrender if Carter is released. Carter sees Ivchenko communicating in Morse code with Underwood, and reveals the truth about her own investigation to her colleagues to gain their trust. Ivchenko hypnotizes Dooley and has him steal one of Stark's weapons from the SSR's labs: a gas cylinder that Underwood and Ivchenko activate in a crowded cinema before leaving and locking the door behind them. The agents find Dooley wearing a Stark experimental vest given to him by Ivchenko, which Jarvis explains will explode with no way to deactivate it. Dooley jumps out a window moments before the device detonates, killing him but saving the others. The gas in the cinema makes the audience become maniacal and attack each other violently, and when an usher arrives soon after, the entire audience is dead.
Snafu was a British rhythm and blues/rock band of the 1970s, featuring vocalist Bobby Harrison and the slide guitarist Micky Moody.
In 1972, vocalist and drummer Bobby Harrison had just left blues-rock outfit Freedom and started to record his first solo LP, 'Funkist'. Featured on this album was Micky Moody, then lead guitarist with the ailing Juicy Lucy. The collaboration between the two was so successful, that after the demise of Juicy Lucy they decided to form a completely new group and play American-inspired funk and R&B-flavoured rock.
Bobby Harrison had a background of playing with Procol Harum, and participated in the recording of their all-time classic, "A Whiter Shade of Pale". Soon after, however, Harrison was told to leave the band due to 'internal differences'. After Procol Harum, Bobby Harrison formed Freedom, whose first line-up recorded a couple of singles and a soundtrack for an Italian film. Commercial success sadly eluded them and Freedom disbanded in 1972. After that, Bobby would occasionally gig with Juicy Lucy where he became friends with guitarist Micky Moody.
Snafu
When everything is all fucked up
Kids are doing drugs
And there are buildings blowing up
Sit back
Cause there is nothing you can do
This entire planet
Is completely fucking screwed
Situation normal- all fucked up
It's a snafu
You're all fucked too
Your homes and towns will fry
When fire rains from the sky
Hahahahaha... you're all gonna die
Fubar
When shit has been going way too far
As the fucking French would say
Nice knowing you, Au Revoir
So fucking PRAY
Cause any coming day
A finger will slip we'll launch the nukes
