Slow Burn or Slowburn may refer to:
Slowburn was a Canadian alternative rock band, best known for the 1996 Alternative top-10 single "Whatever" from their self-titled album released on the Handsome Boy Records label and from the soundtrack to the 1995 movie My Teacher's Wife.
The video directed by Ulf Buddensieck from the second single from the album, "Hit the Ground", was nominated for a Much Music Best Independent Video award.
Formed in Vancouver, Slowburn consisted of lead singer and rhythm guitarist Cliff Boyd, drummer Robert Watkins, lead guitarist Charles Boname, and a variety of bassists. Their first bassist was Neil Atkinson. Atkinson was followed by Harvey Windsor and final bassist Chris Pollon. The original name for the band was Catherine Wheel, however because there was already a successful English band with the same name, they chose Slowburn before the release of their debut album Sparked in 1994.
In 1996, Slowburn released a self-titled album, that featured a re-recording of "Whatever" that originally appeared on Sparked, and two other singles: "Hit the Ground" and "Flesh + Bone". The album was recorded at Mushroom Studios, and mixed at Bryan Adams Home Studio by Randy Staub. Former Blue Peter guitarist Chris Wardman produced the album. The self-titled album was a moderate success on Canadian Campus Chart, debuting at No. 34 on April 30, 1996, and peaking at No. 16 on June 11.
Peter Gabriel is the first studio album by English rock musician Peter Gabriel and the first of four with the same eponymous title. Released on 25 February 1977, it was produced by Bob Ezrin. Gabriel and Ezrin assembled a team of musicians, including Robert Fripp of King Crimson, to record the album. Upon the album's release, Gabriel began touring with a seven-piece band under his own name.
This album is often called either Peter Gabriel 1 or Car, referring to the album cover by London artist Peter Christopherson when he was associated with the London artists group Hipgnosis. The car was a Lancia Flavia owned by Hipgnosis founder Storm Thorgerson.
The album went to No. 7 in UK and No. 38 in the USA.
Gabriel's first solo success came with the album's lead single "Solsbury Hill", an autobiographical piece expressing his thoughts on leaving Genesis. Although mainly happy with the music, Gabriel felt that the album and especially the track "Here Comes the Flood" was over-produced. Piano-only or piano with synth versions may be heard on Robert Fripp's Exposure, his appearance on Kate Bush's 1979 TV special and a third version on his greatest hits compilation Shaking the Tree (1990). He often performs the song live accompanied by only himself on keyboard, either in German or English, depending on the audience.
A paw is the soft foot of a mammal, generally a quadruped, that has claws.
The paw is characterised by thin, pigmented, keratinised, hairless epidermis covering subcutaneous, collagenous, and adipose tissue, which make up the pads. These pads act as a cushion for the load-bearing limbs of the animal. The paw consists of the large, heart-shaped metacarpal or palmar pad (forelimb) or metatarsal or plantar pad (rear limb), and generally four load-bearing digital pads, although there can be five or six toes in the case of domestic cats and bears (including giant panda). A carpal pad is also found on the forelimb which is used for additional traction when stopping or descending a slope in digitigrade species. Additional dewclaws can also be present.
The paw also includes a horn-like, beak shaped claw on each digit. Though usually hairless, certain animals do have fur on the soles of their paws. An example is the red panda, whose furry soles help insulate them in their snowy habitat.
SMS language or textese (also known as txt-speak, txtese, chatspeak, txt, txtspk, txtk, txto, texting language, txt lingo, SMSish, txtslang, txt talk) is a term for the abbreviations and slang commonly used with mobile phone text messaging, but sometimes used with other Internet-based communication such as email and instant messaging.
Three features of early mobile phone messaging encouraged users to use abbreviations: (a) Text entry was difficult, requiring multiple key presses on a small keypad to generate each letter; (b) Messages were limited to 160 characters, and (c) it made texting faster.
Once it became popular it took on a life of its own and was often used outside of its original context. At its peak, it was the cause of vigorous debate about its potentially detrimental effect on literacy, but with the advent of alphabetic keyboards on smartphones its use, and the controversies surrounding it, have receded.
SMS language is similar to that used by those sending telegraphs that charged by the word. It seeks to use the fewest number of letters to produce ultra-concise words and sentiments in dealing with space, time and cost constraints of text messaging. This follows from how early SMS permitted only 160 characters and some carriers charge messages by the number of characters sent.

Break into the warehouse on graduation night
Drunk, laughing, fall around
Oily rags in our hands
Matches fallin' out of our pockets
Yeaaaah!
Keep the car runnin'
Don't leave the lights on
Got a job to do
Won't be back until it's done
Grab a beer
Watch 'em all burn
Burn down, down
To the ground
Feel the heat
Hear the sound
You got slow
Before it starts to burn
Use a little more gas
Just a little bit spun
Start it off
Keep the car runnin'
Don't leave the lights on
Got a job to do
Won't be back until it's done
Grab a beer
Watch 'em all burn
Burn down, down
To the ground
Feel the heat
Hear the sound
You got slow
Before it starts to burn
Use a little more gas
Just a little bit spun
Start it off
Slow...
Burn...
Got a light?
Let's watch it burn!
WATCH... IT... BURN!
