Kylie Minogue

Kylie Ann Minogue, OBE (/ˈkl mˈnɡ/; born 28 May 1968), often known simply as Kylie, is an Australian-born singer, songwriter, and actress. She achieved recognition starring in the Australian soap opera Neighbours, where she played tomboy mechanic Charlene Robinson. Appearing in the series for two years, Minogue's character married Scott Robinson (Jason Donovan) in an episode viewed by nearly 20 million people in the United Kingdom making it one of the most watched Australian TV episodes ever. Since then, Minogue has been a recording artist and has achieved commercial success and critical acclaim in the entertainment industry. Minogue has been recognised with several honorific nicknames including "Princess of Pop" and "Goddess of Pop". She is recognised as the highest-selling Australian artist of all time by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA).

Born in Melbourne, Australia, Minogue has for many years worked and lived in London. She signed to PWL in 1987 and released her first studio album Kylie the next year. In 1992, she left PWL and signed with Deconstruction Records and where she created her self-titled studio album and Impossible Princess, both of which received positive reviews from critics. Returning to more mainstream dance-oriented music, Minogue signed to Parlophone and released "Spinning Around". Her 2001 single "Can't Get You Out of My Head" became one of the most successful singles during the 2000s, selling over ten million units. It is recognised as her "signature song" and was named "...the catchiest song ever" by Yahoo! Music. Her album Fever (2001) was a hit in many countries, including the United States. Throughout her career, Minogue has released many successful singles, including "The Loco-Motion", "Especially for You", "Hand on Your Heart", "Better the Devil You Know", "Confide in Me", "Spinning Around", "Slow", "2 Hearts" and "All The Lovers".

Kylie Minogue (album)

Kylie Minogue is the self-titled fifth studio album by Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue, which was first released on 19 September 1994. The album was first released by Deconstruction Records/BMG throughout much of the world while in Australia and New Zealand the album was released by Mushroom. Plans for an American release by Imago Records (who issued lead single there) fell through, and the release never took place. With the new deal with her record label, Minogue worked with new producers including Dave Ball, Ingo Vauk, Brothers in Rhythm, Manic Street Preachers and Rob Dougan, which eventually produced her then-future album Impossible Princess (1997).

Musically, the album varies with many musical genres but stays in the pop music field. The album represented a new change in Minogue's music, working with more new jack swing, jazz, house and techno music, similar to the musical tones of her previous album. It became the second album by Minogue to contain songs written by her. Originally, the album was intended to consist of all songs written by Minogue but A&R Pete Hadfield decided they were heading into the wrong direction, so another seventeen new songs were recorded. The main themes of the album concern love, with many of the sub-themes heading towards infidelity, putting someone in their own place, sexual intercourse and lust. Examples of the themes come from singles "Confide in Me" and "Put Yourself In My Place", both surrounding the theme of love.

Comin' to Your City is the second studio album by the country music duo Big & Rich, released in 2005. It features the hit singles "Comin' to Your City", "Never Mind Me", and "8th of November", which peaked at number 21, number 34, and number 18 on the Hot Country Songs charts, respectively. Target offered an exclusive deluxe edition of the album which featured a bonus DVD of Big & Rich's performance at the 2005 CMA Music Festival.

The title track has become the official theme song of College Gameday, albeit with different lyrics that talk about specific college football teams. Cowboy Troy appears in the revamped version and the corresponding video. The track "I Pray for You" was one of the first songs which Big Kenny and John Rich wrote together. Prior to the duo's inception, both singers included it on their respective solo albums (Big Kenny's Live a Little and Rich's Underneath the Same Moon), which were both recorded in 1999, with the former released in 2005 and the latter in 2006. Rich's solo rendition was also released as a single in 2000, peaking at No. 58 on the country charts.

    Slow Motion (Juvenile song)

"Slow Motion" is a song by rapper Juvenile featuring Soulja Slim. It was released as a single in March 2004 and is Juvenile's only number one hit on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. The song is an original production by Danny Kartel. It held the number-one position on the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks from August 7, 2004, and was the first number one for both Juvenile and Soulja Slim. It was the seventh song to reach #1 posthumously for a credited artist and also the first #1 hit for Cash Money Records.

    Background and content

Although not planned as a tribute, it came out as one of the more popular posthumous songs because of Soulja Slim's sudden death in November 2003, before the recording process was released (though the beat and lyrics had already been recorded by Soulja).

The "slow motion" of the title is the movement of a woman's body, with the lyrics proclaiming: "Uh, I like it like that / She working that back; I don't know how to act / Slow motion for me, slow motion for me / Slow motion for me; move it slow motion for me".

    Glad To Be Alive

    by: Kylie Minogue

    Ohh life's so hard
Someday's you need something new to wear
    Like a brand new hat
    Try so hard
    To work it out
People try to hold you back
    On day's like that
    You need another hand
It's the same all over the world
People have to earn a living
Now you're so far from the troubles at home
    Leave them alone
    And they'll work themselves out
    We love it
    Glad to be alive
    I like it
    Working over time in lovin'
I hope tomorrow feels like this
    Yeah
    Dreaming hard
    Brand new car
    And another home loan
And the phone bill is overdue
Don't give up on rainy days
I've seen the sun come shining through
    On you and me
    Make you feel alright
    Life's so hard
    We can work it out
Will it's a big tough city
