Summary

Shanta and (Rakhi Gulzar) Prabin (Suresh Oberoi) was married. Nabin (Mithun Chakraborty) is Prabin's younger brother. On the day of marriage, the police raides the house, but did not get Nabin. The reason for Nabin's crime is not disclosed. Then Nabin meets Shanta in the bus, but the police attacks the bus and Nabin escapes again. Meantime, Prabin wins the case of their old ancestral property. Nabin meets family friend Suraj (Vijay Arora) and knows about Shanta's delivery of a boy. Prabin was murdered by his relative and the blame falls on Nabin. However Nabin later proves his innocence in front of everyone. Soon dejected Shanta with her children and father-in-law had to leave the city. They had a struggled living. Meantime Nabin gets caught by police for the murder of Prabin and sentenced to death. Suraj, who was also Shanta's childhood friend advises Shanta to make pickles and sell it to make money. Shanta follows his advice and starts the pickle factory. Now her father-in-law also passes away. Her son gets married, as well as daughter. Suraj also dies. Now Shanta makes a will and leaves home. Everyone searches for her, but unable to find her. Shanta's grandson Raju finds her in the station. Everyone understand their mistakes and apologises to Shanta. Finally Shanta dies, and her granddaughter Shobha gives birth to a daughter, now everybody believes that their Amma Shanta is born again as Shobha's granddaughter.

Amma (1952 film)

Amma (English: Mother) is a 1952 Malayalam film directed by K. Vembu and written by Nagavally R. S. Kurup. The film is based on L.V Prasad's Telugu movie Shavukar. The film was also made in Tamil and was a moderate success at the box office. It was one of the two films that enjoyed success among the 11 Malayalam films which released in 1952, the other being Prem Nazir-starrer Visappinte Vili. The cast of Amma includes Lalitha, B. S. Saroja, Aranmula Ponnamma, Thikkurissy Sukumaran Nair, M. N. Nambiar, T. S. Dorairaj, P. M. Devan, Gopalan Nair, T. S. Muthaiah and Sharma.

Plot

The film tells the tale of Lakshmi Amma, a loving mother, and her son Venu. Venu falls in love with Radha, a rich lady, and later marries her. After the marriage, Venu and Radha shifts to Madras. He manages to send some money to his mother in the beginning. But as days went, Radha intervenes and Venu is not able to send any more money to his poor mother. Meanwhile, a private moneylender from whom Lakshmi Amma had borrowed some money for Venu's marriage, kicks her out of the house. Venu brings Lakshmi Amma to his Madras residence but Radha is not ready to allow her to stay there. This creates problems and Lakshmi Amma has to leave the house. She is thrown to the streets. A lot of dramatic happenings form the rest of the story.

Spider Riders

Spider Riders (スパイダーライダーズ ~オラクルの勇者たち~, Supaidāraidāzu ~Orakuru no Yūsha-tachi~, Spider Riders ~the Heroes of Oracle~) is a series of science fiction novels first published in December 2004, published by Newmarket Press written by Tedd Anasti, Patsy Cameron-Anasti and Stephen D. Sullivan (books 2–3). The stories became the basis of the anime series produced by Cookie Jar Entertainment of Canada and Bee Train of Japan. The three novels are titled Spider Riders: Shards of the Oracle, Spider Riders: Reign of the Soul Eater, and Spider Riders: Quest of the Earthen. Spider Riders broadcasts on Teletoon, This TV, and used to broadcast on Kids' WB!. Koichi Mashimo co-directed the staff at Bee Train with Takaaki Ishiyama. Writer Yosuke Kuroda adapted the novels. Robert Pincombe and Shelly Hoffman wrote the English version.

Plot

Eleven-year-old Hunter Steel searches for the legendary inner world by following the instructions in his grandfather's journal. He enters a cave where he finds a mysterious manacle that attaches itself to him. A spider startles Hunter, who falls into a hole to the center of the Earth and into the subterranean world of Arachna. There, he discovers a small group of elite warriors struggling to survive and to save Arachna from the attack of giant insect mutants. The warriors are children, each fighting with the help of their own 10 ft (3.0 m) battle spiders. They call themselves "Spider Riders". In the English TV series, the ages of the characters were reduced.

Slate (elections)

A slate is a group of candidates that run in multi-seat or multi-position elections on a common platform.

The common platform may be because the candidates are all members of a political party, have the same or similar policies, or some other reason.

Elections that commonly have slates

United States electoral college

The United States presidential elections use an electoral college to determine the winner and the electors are chosen by popular vote in each state. Voters choose a slate of electors who support one of the candidates, although this may not be obvious to the voter at the time.

United States legislative elections

In states whose state legislatures are elected from multi-member districts, it is common for groups of candidates to form slates in primary and general elections. Elections to the Maryland General Assembly are a prime example, with most districts electing one member of the Maryland Senate and three members of the Maryland House of Delegates. Candidates for senator and delegate (usually incumbents) often join together prior to the primary election, registering their slates as separate campaign committees to enable them to raise funds separately. They are commonly called "Leadership Teams".
