Greeks (finance)

In mathematical finance, the Greeks are the quantities representing the sensitivity of the price of derivatives such as options to a change in underlying parameters on which the value of an instrument or portfolio of financial instruments is dependent. The name is used because the most common of these sensitivities are denoted by Greek letters (as are some other finance measures). Collectively these have also been called the risk sensitivities,risk measures or hedge parameters.

Use of the Greeks

The Greeks are vital tools in risk management. Each Greek measures the sensitivity of the value of a portfolio to a small change in a given underlying parameter, so that component risks may be treated in isolation, and the portfolio rebalanced accordingly to achieve a desired exposure; see for example delta hedging.

The Greeks in the Black–Scholes model are relatively easy to calculate, a desirable property of financial models, and are very useful for derivatives traders, especially those who seek to hedge their portfolios from adverse changes in market conditions. For this reason, those Greeks which are particularly useful for hedging—such as delta, theta, and vega—are well-defined for measuring changes in Price, Time and Volatility. Although rho is a primary input into the Black–Scholes model, the overall impact on the value of an option corresponding to changes in the risk-free interest rate is generally insignificant and therefore higher-order derivatives involving the risk-free interest rate are not common.

Gamma (store)

Gamma is a Dutch Hardware store-chain. It started in May 11, 1978 in Breda. The headquarters of the franchise-organisation Intergamma is located in Leusden and as of 2011 it has 245 stores, of which 164 are located in the Netherlands and 81 in Belgium. Intergamma also owns the Hardware store-chain Karwei.

History

In 2008 Gamma had a revenue of 606 million euro.

Gamma commercials have been broadcast in the Netherlands on radio and television since 1994, and have made the actors John Buijsman and Martin van Waardenberg well known in the Netherlands. In Flanders Luk Wyns is the face of the company.

"Teacher" is a song performed by American recording artist Nick Jonas for his eponymous second studio album. It was written by Ammar Malik, Danny Parker, and Jason Evigan; production was helmed by the last one. It was released as the second promotional single on October 14, 2014.

Background and composition

"Teacher" was written by Ammar Malik, Danny Parker and Jason Evigan and produced by Evigan. The song is an 80’s disco-inspired tune. “This game we're playing make me wanna break the rules”, sings Nick in the second verse. "Teacher" is a song where Nick teaches a girl he’s really interested in how to properly “love”.

On October 14, 2014, "Teacher", alongside the song "Wilderness", were leaked online. That same day they where made available in Australia on iTunes that same day. One day before the album's release Nick released a lyric video of the song. the video shows him and other people with the lyrics of the song on their bodies.

Reception

Teacher is a priesthood office in the Aaronic priesthood of denominations within the Latter Day Saint movement, including The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Young men who reach the age of 14 are integrated into the Teachers Quorum. Those who are found worthy by their bishop (in an interview) are ordained in a similar manner as Deacons, except that the Aaronic Priesthood is not conferred upon them again if they have already received it as a Deacon. A Priest or a holder of the Melchizedek Priesthood may ordain a person to the office of Teacher.

As specified in the Doctrine and Covenants, a Teachers Quorum may not contain more than 24 members. As a result, in some larger wards there are two Teacher Quorums. A presidency, consisting of a president, first counselor, and second counselor, is called from members of the quorum by the bishopric and set apart to serve as the presidency of the Teachers Quorum. The president is given "priesthood keys" to preside in his quorum. A secretary to the presidency is also called.
