Slam is the third and final full-length album from Boston band Big Dipper. The album was released in 1990 on Epic Records.

Slam (Onyx song)

"Slam" was the second single released from Onyx's debut album, Bacdafucup. Released on May 11, 1993, "Slam" was Onyx's breakthrough single, making it to number 4 on the US Billboard 100 and was the group's second straight single to make it to number 1 on the Rap charts.

The main chant of the song's chorus is a variation of the vocal and organ intro to the much-sampled instrumental "The Champ" by The Mohawks.

The official remix, entitled "Slam (Bionyx remix)" was a collaboration with heavy metal band, Biohazard. It was first released on a maxi-single entitled Slam: The Alternatives and later appeared on Biohazard's Tales from the B-Side. Music videos for both the original and the Bionyx remix were released

The single was first certified gold on July 7, 1993, before being certified platinum on August 10, 1993. It sold over 900,000 copies.

The song has been used in movies such as How High and TV shows such as The Cleveland Show and Tosh.0 as well as numerous commercials, including SoBe and Gatorade.

Grouches

The Grouches are a race of creatures in Sesame Street.

Background

Grouches are an eccentric race of pessimistic, argumentative, unhygienic furry creatures who prefer to live wherever trash can be found: trash cans, city dumps, even the occasional landfill (although, some Grouches live in crummy houses, broken cars, and some live in "yucky beautiful houses"). Grouches are a distinct species from the Sesame Street Monsters (including the AM Monsters).

Being as grouchy and miserable as they possibly can be is any Grouch's main mission in life. They also feel that they have to make everyone else feel the same way. Even though that makes them happy, however, a Grouch will never admit to being happy no matter what the circumstances.

Grouches like anything dirty or dingy or dusty, anything ragged or rotten or rusty or trashy. They will only buy appliances that don't work, they normally keep elephants, worms pigs, goats, and donkeys as pets, eat undesirable foods (particularly sardines), sing out-of-tune, play radios at the highest volume, and bathe in mud as they all love not being clean. Grouches also like to use phrases such as "scram", "get lost", "go away", and "beat it".

Targetmaster is a subline of the Transformers toyline that include Nebulan sidekicks who can transform into the Transformers' weapons.

1987 Targetmasters

The first Targetmasters assortment, released in 1987, included six new characters, and five existing ones from the 1986 line, whose toys were slightly remolded with larger peg holes to hold their new weapons, as well as an additional peg hole for each remold to mount its weapon in vehicle mode. In 2003, one of the two Japanese-exclusive Targetmasters from 1987 was added to the Autobot ranks. Unfortunately, the Targetmaster weapon he shares with Decepticon Cyclonus, also share names. To further add to the confusion, the printed names of Stepper and Artfire's weapon/partners in Japan are swapped. Cyclonus's partner Nightstick is called Nebulon (the name Fracas is erroneously given on Scourge's box) and paired with Stepper. Scourge's partner Fracas is called Nightstick and paired with Artfire.

The smaller Targetmaster partners were easily lost making them highly collectable and demand high prices on the secondary market.

Haywire is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.

Publication history

Haywire was a minor character from the original Squadron Supreme series from Marvel Comics. Like new additions to the Squadron Supreme, his DC Comics counterpart, Vibe, was part of the Detroit-based Justice League.

Fictional character biography

Haywire (Harold Danforth) has the ability to create and project strands of 5mm diameter metallic "tanglewires". These wires can be created at some distance from his body, and disappear if he loses consciousness. Haywire was a member of Nighthawk's group of freedom fighters, the Redeemers, whose purpose was to overthrow the government controlled by the Squadron Supreme. During this time he was romantically involved with fellow Redeemer Inertia. Haywire was one of the Redeemers who joined the Squadron Supreme as a double agent in order to sabotage their efforts at world conquest. He accompanied Lamprey and the Whizzer on a tour of the hibernacle, and then led Lamprey into Redeemers headquarters for deprogramming. With his fellow Redeemers, Haywire fought the Squadron, forcing them to end their dictatorship over the United States of "Other-Earth". Haywire battled the Whizzer during the huge battle. After the battle, some of the surviving Redeemers joined the Squadron Supreme, including Haywire.
