Michael Scott, Michael Scot, or Mike Scott may refer to:
Michael 'Mike' Scott (born 14 December 1958) is a Scottish singer, songwriter and musician. He is the founding member, lead singer and the lead songwriter of rock band The Waterboys. He has also produced two solo albums, Bring 'em All In and Still Burning. Scott is a vocalist, guitarist and pianist, and has played a large range of other instruments, including the bouzouki, drums, and Hammond organ on his albums. Scott is also a published writer, having released his autobiography, Adventures of a Waterboy, in 2012.
Having begun a musical career in the 1970s that has continued to this day, Scott has been making "extraordinary music" since the 1980s and is well known for his radical changes in music genres throughout what he refers to as his "allegedly unorthodox" career. Scott currently lives in Dublin, Ireland.
Scott was born and raised in Edinburgh. His father, Allan Scott, left the family when Mike was ten years old, but the two were reunited in 2007.
Michael Joseph Scott (born 1963), known as Mike Scott, is the Sheriff of Lee County, Florida as of 2011, and the 12th person to head the Lee County Sheriff's Office since it began in 1887. The county makes up the entirety of the Cape Coral-Fort Myers MSA, and is the most populous county in Southwest Florida. Its county seat is Fort Myers, and its largest city is Cape Coral. Scott, a Republican, has held the office of Sheriff in Lee County since 2004. He was re-elected in the fall of 2008 and again in 2012.
Born and raised in Lee County, Scott is a third generation Lee County resident. He graduated from North Fort Myers High School in 1981. He earned an associate's degree from Edison Community College. In 1985, Scott earned a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of South Florida. He holds a master's degree in business administration with a concentration in public administration from IMPAC University.
In 1988, Scott joined the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, after working as a Probation and Parole Officer for the State of Florida for 2 years. During assignments as Public Information Officer, he was spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office on a wide variety of matters. He also served as the Law Enforcement Coordinator for the Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers Program.
Sitdown, Sit Down or sit-down may refer to the following:
"Sit Down" is a song by James, originally released in 1989 by Rough Trade Records. In its seven-and-a-half-minute original form, the song only reached number 77 in the UK Singles Chart (although it did make number 8 in John Peel's Festive Fifty of that year). Due to this unimpressive performance their record label's managing director, Geoff Travis, told the band they were not a viable commercial proposition beyond an audience of 20,000.
The song's lyrics were written in the autumn of 1988 as a thank-you to two women who greatly inspired Tim Booth: author Doris Lessing and singer Patti Smith. After experiencing success as part of the Madchester music scene, a new version was released in March 1991 that was rockier, shorter and with new lyrics. It reached number 2 in the Singles Chart, spending three weeks there. It was the 20th best-selling single of 1991 in the UK, one of the highest selling singles of the year not to reach number one.
After the release of their 'Best Of' album, the song was remixed by Apollo 440 and released as a single for a third time in November 1998, reaching number 7 (making it their biggest hit since the 1991 release).
Sit Down is an EP by Run On, released in 1997 through Matador Records.

The dark man of dreams
the figure without any face
is taunting me
is haunting me
from his hidden place
The dark man of my dreams
killer of the hoping heart
is choking me
has broken me
since we did part
And until my awakening
I never felt
a single thing
But as winter turns to spring
I sense his loss
in everything
The dark man of my dreams
sentry at the slit of my soul
If I dare to ask
will you let me pass
or eat me whole
Dark man of my dreams
this information you keep
will it frighten me ?
enlighten me ?
or make me weep
Perhaps you feel like stepping in
don't fool yourself
you ain't him !
It's my projection,mine alone
you've got no business here
Go home !
The dark man of my dreams
I'm told I'm a lot like you
and if that means
what I think it means
I must be in your dreams too
