Sun..! was the debut release from the British band Silver Sun. At the time of release Sun was also the name of the band, though after finding out there was a German band with the same name the band were forced to change their name.
The Sun (in Greek: Helios, in Latin: Sol) is the star at the center of the Solar System and is by far the most important source of energy for life on Earth. It is a nearly perfect spherical ball of hot plasma, with internal convective motion that generates a magnetic field via a dynamo process. Its diameter is about 109 times that of Earth, and it has a mass about 330,000 times that of Earth, accounting for about 99.86% of the total mass of the Solar System.About three quarters of the Sun's mass consists of hydrogen; the rest is mostly helium, with much smaller quantities of heavier elements, including oxygen, carbon, neon and iron.
The Sun is a G-type main-sequence star (G2V) based on spectral class and it is informally referred to as a yellow dwarf. It formed approximately 4.567 billion years ago from the gravitational collapse of matter within a region of a large molecular cloud. Most of this matter gathered in the center, whereas the rest flattened into an orbiting disk that became the Solar System. The central mass became increasingly hot and dense, eventually initiating nuclear fusion in its core. It is thought that almost all stars form by this process.
Sun is the second stand-alone production album created by Thomas J. Bergersen from Two Steps from Hell, released on September 30, 2014. The release contains 16 tracks, featuring vocal performances by Merethe Soltvedt, Molly Conole and other vocalists. The album cover and artwork are designed by Bergersen himself. The album was announced for pre-order on September 9 across iTunes, Amazon, and CD Baby, with the tracks "Empire of Angels," "Final Frontier," and "Starchild" made available on iTunes prior to the full release. In addition, a signed limited deluxe edition CD version has been scheduled for somewhere in 2015, set to include additional music, notes on each track written by Thomas, and a large-size poster featuring his artwork.
The tracks from Two Steps from Hell are frequently used in film trailers and other promotional materials.
Sister is the debut album by Japanese alternative rock band Marbell. It was released in Japan on May 14, 2008. The album is Marbell's solitary release as they officially disbanded in March 2010. Music videos were produced for "Miss All Birthday" and "Te no Naru Kata e".
Sister is the debut studio album by the Spanish rock band Dover. It was released on 15 August 1995 under the independent record company Everlasting-Caroline.
It was recorded between July and August 1995, at Estudio La Nave in Madrid. The record company, lacking resources, did little promotion for the album, which led to a complete failure to sell only 500 copies of an edition of 800, when his goal was to edit and sell 4,000. This was a big disappointment, but at least it allowed them to add performances (Festimad from 1996 to 1998, and Festival Internacional de Benicàssim in 1996).
Even with the disappointment of sales, they recorded their first video Come with me. Officially the album had no single but this song was the most demanded for at concerts by fans. The music video was recorded in a garage, with reduced budget, under the direction of Juan Bullón.
The album was reissued by Chrysalis on March 26, 2001. Besides having a new album cover and a neat internal booklet with funny pictures from his last tours, it contained a song that, in its day, could not enter the album because of publishing problems. It was "Noche Tras Noche", the only song that the band has recorded in Spanish. It is a cover version of the Spanish group Solera, that Dover used to play in his first concerts back in 1994.
Sister is a compilation album by the band Letters to Cleo. It was released on November 3, 1998. The album's last track is a cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams". Although it was the final Letters To Cleo album to be released through a major label, the material on the album pre-dates all their other work; tracks 1-7 are originally from their demo tape, and tracks 8-11 were originally released as b-sides to the group's singles.
Nash is a World War II U.S. Army Large Tug (LT) class seagoing tugboat built as hull #298 at Jakobson Shipyard, Oyster Bay NY as a Design 271 steel hulled Large Tug delivered November, 1943. LT-5 sailed to Great Britain in February 1944 in anticipation of Operation Overlord, the planned allied invasion Europe. On June 6, 1944, LT-5 sailed for Normandy with two barges as part of Operation Mulberry, in support of Overlord. Under fire, the tug ferried supplies to the landing beaches for the next month, in the process shooting down a German fighter aircraft on June 9th.
After the war, LT-5 returned to the United States. Assigned to the Buffalo District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in May 1946, LT-5 was renamed John F. Nash. Nash was the Buffalo District's Senior Engineer and Chief Civilian Assistant for the period 1932 to 1941. Tell me is it really true
There's something goin' on
Outside
I just can feel it
I heard it on the radio
I'm not allowed to go
Outside
I can't believe it
There's a big hole in the sky
Where the radiation's breaking through
And we just sit and stare
Like the rabbit at the snake
There's so much we could do
But we gotta do it now
Cause it's gettin' pretty late
Better hurry now
We all need the sun
We need love and light for everyone
We need our atmosphere
To live in here
We could be so strong
We overthrow the government and stop
What's goin' wrong
We're fighting for the sun
It's really hard to understand
The change of sister sun
As if your sunny smile
Would turn into a deadly one
It's not a quality of life
To live inside a mighty trap
To have that ice-cold coke beyond the radiation gap
There should be more resistance
Against industrial trusts
And if there's no solution, there should be revolution
I wonder if we start in time, we're racing with the seconds
I wonder if we've got enough to talk to stupid politicians
We all need the sun...
