    Reception

    Critical

Sirens has been given a Metacritic score of 48, indicating mixed or average reviews. Jon Dolan of Rolling Stone wrote that the album "stirs up the same hey-whatever mix of reggae, hip-hop and punk that made Sublime shirtless charmers 20 years ago", and David Jeffries of AllMusic judged this album "a step up" from their debut album Yours Truly. Garrett Kamps of Billboard magazine on the other hand thought that while "the tunes are competently rendered, but that actually makes them worse: That these guys are selling out shows as what amounts to a cover band is the kind of thing you need to be super-baked to wrap your head around."

    Sirens (Ultradrug – Thee Sequel)

Sirens (Ultradrug – Thee Sequel) is a remix album by Psychic TV. Sugar J remixes Godstar '94 (as Stargods) and Burned Out, But Building (as Skreemer), Andrew Weatherall remixes the track United '94 (as Re-United), and Psychic TV as DJ Doktor Megatrip remixes Love - War - Riot (as Sirens). The track Sirens is identical as the Love - War - Riot (Vocoder Mix) from the compilation "Origin Of The Species" Volume Too!, where it is correctly credited. The title references the earlier Psychic TV album Ultradrug.

    Liner notes

"Thee SIRENS do not sing for me. They scream abuse, they signal rape. Their call is not to love, nor embrace, but a call to arms to destroy a race of those who can still think. A loud and burning issue bursts forth from flaming hole. Sighss and suckles, each moment power, and every cell a soul. An end to mark the start of TIME is only close in mind. Touch everything you can with dreams, and end thee SIRENS crime." (Old TOPI poem)

    Panda (band)

Panda (later stylized as Pxndx) is a Mexican Rock band formed in Monterrey, Nuevo León in 1996 as part of the musical movement known as Avanzada Regia. The band caught local attention in 2001 with the album Arroz con leche, and mainstream success on their albums Para ti con desprecio (2005) and Amantes Sunt Amentes (2007).

    Background

    Formation (1996-1999)

The band started playing covers but they realized they were good at writing their own material, so they started writing songs about friends, parties and love. Those songs were placed on a demo tape, Demo 1997, and distributed to independent labels. Soon after that, they caught the attention of an independent label, Movic Records, and signed a record deal (by Kiko Lobo).

Arroz con leche and La revancha del príncipe charro (2000-2004)

Their first studio album, Arroz con leche, was released on September 2, 2001, and caught little attention by people and critics, only selling 50,000 copies. Their second album, La revancha del príncipe charro, was released February 3, 2002, a short time after Arroz con leche. La revancha del príncipe charro sold well, and reached platinum in Mexico. Part of the success of that record was due to the combination of punk and rock sounds. The album also contained a cover from Joan Sebastian and Alberto Vazquez (singer)'s duet song, "Maracas".

    Panda (musician)

Pieter Hooghoudt (born April 14, 1986), known by his stage name Panda, a Dutch electronic music artist living in Amsterdam, specializing in Drum and Bass.
