Perfil

Perfil is an Argentine tabloid newspaper based in Buenos Aires.

History

The newspaper was first launched by Jorge Fontevecchia on 9 May 1998 as a daily newspaper, but poor sales forced its closure on 31 July of the same year.

Perfil was relaunched on 11 September 2005 as a weekly newspaper, published on the day of highest sales, Sundays. The expectation was that after building a reader base they would be able to add a new edition on Saturdays, and finally become a daily newspaper again.

It is currently published on weekends, and has an online edition which is updated every day. In addition, the Sunday edition includes the women's magazine Luz.

Features

Like many European newspapers it includes a section called the "Reader's Ombudsman", with the responsibility of maintaining the newspaper's reputation. Abel González was the first ombudsman in 1998. From 2005 until 15 December 2007, the journalist and neurologist Nelson Castro held that position. Andrew Graham-Yooll, formerly the chief editor of the Buenos Aires Herald, is the current ombudsman.

Perfil (Cássia Eller album)

Perfil (In English: "Profile") is an album by Brazilian rock musician Cássia Eller released in 2003 by the label Som Livre in their profile series, containing hits like "Malandragem", "O Segundo Sol", "Palavras ao Vento", "Por Enquanto", "Milagreiro" (with Djavan), and "Nós", among others.

Fergie (DJ)

Fergie (born Robert William Ferguson, 16 November 1979) is an Northern Irish DJ and electronic music artist from Larne, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Initially playing hard house in the DJ sets of his early career, he is now better known for playing and producing House and Techno music. He also presented his own radio show on BBC Radio 1 for 4 years.

Fergie played his first set at the age of 14 in his native Larne. Allegedly a milk crate was used so that he could reach the decks. Being underage, he was soon ejected from the premises by the police. He followed this by building his reputation at Armagh's The Met, promoted by friend Mark Dobbin. Before moving to London he met Tony de Vit while DJing at Lush! in Kelly's, Portrush. De Vit would become Fergie's mentor, playing together at Trade in Turnmills. Through the 1990s he played at clubs across the UK including Sundissential and Godskitchen. He was also popular in Ibiza, DJing at Privilege, Space and Bora Bora. He has featured in the "DJ Mag Top 100 DJs" poll 7 years in a row (between 2000 and 2006) and currently holds the record for the highest new entry since the poll began, achieved when he was voted 8th in 2000. He's currently living in Las Vegas and has secured a residency at the newly opened Hakkasan Nightclub. He is working under the name Fergie (DJ)

Sin

Etymology

The word derives from "Old English syn(n), for original *sunjō... The stem may be related to that of Latin sons, sont-is guilty. In Old English there are examples of the original general sense, ‘offence, wrong-doing, misdeed'". The Biblical terms translated from New Testament Greek (αμαρτία - amartia) and from Hebrew as "sin" or "syn" originate in archery and literally refer to missing the "gold" at the centre of a target, but hitting the target, i.e. error. (Archers call not hitting the target at all a "miss".)

In the Bahá'í Faith, humans are considered naturally good (perfect), fundamentally spiritual beings. Human beings were created because of God's immeasurable love. However, the Bahá'í teachings compare the human heart to a mirror, which, if turned away from the light of the sun (i.e. God), is incapable of receiving God's love.

History

Pal Kastrioti (fl. 1383—1407) was given the village of Sina (Signa) as a fief by Zetan lord Balša II. Pal's son, Konstantin, was the lord of Serina (Sina, or Cerüja).
