Simon Philip Guy Lee (born 4 March 1961) is a British business executive. He was the Chief Executive of RSA Insurance Group, a British multinational general insurance company, until 13 December 2013, when he was succeeded by Stephen Hester.

Early life

Simon Lee was born on 4 March 1961. He attended the University of Leeds, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in English and French.

Career

Lee was Chief Executive of RSA Insurance Group plc from August 2011, and a main board director since 2007, until December 2013. He started his career with National Westminster Bank, and after 17 years rose to Director of Wholesale Markets. Lee resigned on 13 December 2013

Personal life

He and his wife Fiona have three teenage daughters, and live in Kent.

Simon Lee, is a conductor and musical supervisor and is a longtime associate of Andrew Lloyd Webber, for whom he served as musical supervisor on a number of productions.

Lee served in June and July, 2008, as the How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? (Canada) judge on the Canadian version of the television reality show, and was responsible for the musical aspects of the production of The Sound of Music in London, England.

In January, February and March 2014, Lee served as the production musical director for a revival of Tell Me on a Sunday that featured the original album artist, Marti Webb, and played at initially St James Theatre, London and subsequently the Duchess Theatre.

Professor Simon Francis Lee (born 29 March 1957 in Gillingham, Kent). Professor Lee is a Fellow of St Edmund's College, Cambridge (http://www.st-edmunds.cam.ac.uk/people/professor-simon-lee), the Executive Director of the Cambridge

Theological Federation [1], Professor of Law at the Open University and emeritus professor of jurisprudence at Queen’s University Belfast. He is also chairman of the advisory council of International Schools Partnership. ISP raised £200m and is investing in schools around the world, starting with Spain and the UK.

His latest book, Vincent’s 1863-2013, was published by Third Millennium on 6 May 2014 [4], the 60th anniversary of Vincent’s Sir Roger Bannister running the first sub four minute mile. Sir Roger Bannister contributes the foreword to the book. Simon Lee was made an honorary member of Vincent’s in 2012.

Simon Lee gave the sermon on 4 August 2014 in Great St Mary’s at the Cambridge service to mark the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War [5]
