Silver City is a ghost town in Owyhee County, Idaho, United States. At its height in the 1880s it was a gold and silver mining town with a population of around 2,500 and approximately 75 businesses. Silver City served as county seat of Owyhee County from 1867 to 1934. Today, the town has about 70 standing buildings, all of which are privately owned. Many of the owners are third- or fourth-generation descendants of the original miners. There are a handful of small businesses, but no gas or service stations. The land is now owned by the Bureau of Land Management.
Silver City was founded in 1864 soon after silver was discovered at nearby War Eagle Mountain (elev. 8,065 ft (2,458 m)). The settlement grew quickly and was soon considered one of the major cities in Idaho Territory. The first daily newspaper and telegraph office in Idaho Territory were established in Silver City. The town was also among the first places in present-day Idaho to receive electric and telephone service.

The Silver City is a fictional location in stories published DC Universe. It is the home of beings known as Angels and of the Presence, the primary deity of Abrahamic theology in the DC Universe. The Silver City debuted in More Fun Comics #52, (February 1940), and was created by Jerry Siegel and Bernard Baily.
The original form of the Silver City is referred to in More Fun Comics #52, (February 1940), and was created by Jerry Siegel and Bernard Baily.
The modern Silver City was re-imagined for Neil Gaiman's Season of Mists storyline in The Sandman, when the angels Duma and Remiel are dispatched to the Dreaming to observe the events there following Lucifer's abdication of the throne of Hell. The Silver City was initially stated not to be the same as, but is now stated to be Heaven. It exists "outside the created order of things" and apparently predates the rest of Creation. These same traits are attributed to the Christian Heaven.
Gaiman used the location again in his short story "Murder Mysteries", which is set in the Silver City, and features the angel Raguel's investigation of the first murder ever. In 1999, comics author Mike Carey started The Sandman-spinoff series Lucifer, in which the Silver City is an important and frequently displayed location.

Idaho was a 1925 American Western film serial directed by Robert F. Hill. The film is considered to be lost.
Idaho is the third single to be released from the album Generation Freakshow by the British rock band Feeder. It was released on vinyl the week commencing 27 August 2012, although the digital format was already released the day prior.
As the single was only released on a 7" vinyl and digital download, while not attracting mainstream airplay like many of Feeder's recent singles, "Idaho" did not chart within the top 200.
The video features Grant Nicholas and Taka Hirose in a bar, while the main character, played by Daniel Mays and dressed as the Lone Ranger, attempts a mechanical bull ride to win a trip to Idaho.
An online flash game entitled "Beat the Bull" based on the video was released on Feeder's website and Facebook page to promote the song, in which the player must keep the character on the mechanical bull for a set period of time. Three songs could be won upon completing various milestones; Headstrong, from the Generation Freakshow album; Along the Avenues, a b-side to the single Borders; and an instrumental version of Idaho.
Idaho is a jazz song written by Jesse Stone.
Stone's early writings show a deep blues influence. An early success was "Idaho", recorded by several artists, with the Benny Goodman version peaking at #4 (pop) in 1942. The recording by Guy Lombardo sold three million copies.
One day I went and left my home out in the West
Said I was headed for the Silver City
All along the line I was dreaming all the time
Dreaming of the shining Silver City
I kissed my love goodbye, said "Honey don't you cry"
For I'm going to the Silver City
If you could read my mind you'd know that I'll be fine
Soon as I do my time in the Silver City
Two weeks and a day I slowly made my way
To the gates of the Silver City
Finally one night I saw the flaming lights
I had made it to the Silver City
I honestly believed that I would be received
With the golden key to the Silver City
But my first night on the town, bandits knocked me down
They welcomed me to the Silver City
Musta been a freak mistake I said as I did wake
In the gutter of the Silver City
With a throbbing head I begged for my bread
Half-smiling as I bled in the Silver City
Oh, how can there ever be such misery in the streets
How can it ever be in the Silver City?
But soon enough I saw how easy it was to fall
And not be seen at all in the Silver City
Got caught for a crime I done; Policeman said "Son."
"Don't you try to run in the Silver City"
He locked me in his jail. No one to go my bail.
Oh when can I sail away fron the Silver City?
Now the moon crys through the bars; my love shines in the stars
I'm glad that she is far from the Silver City
If she could read my mind she'd know that I'll be fine
Soon as I do my time in the Silver City
