Silla (57 BC – 935 AD) (Korean pronunciation: [ɕʰilːa]) was one of the Three Kingdoms of Korea, and one of the world's longest sustained dynasties. Although it was founded by King Park Hyeokgeose, the dynasty was ruled by the Gyeongju Kim (김, 金) clan for most of its 992-year history. It began as a chiefdom in the Samhan confederacies, once allied with China, but Silla eventually conquered the other two kingdoms, Baekje in 660 and Goguryeo in 668. Thereafter, Unified Silla or Later Silla, as it is often referred to, occupied most of the Korean Peninsula, while the northern part re-emerged as Balhae, a successor-state of Goguryeo. After nearly 1000 years of rule, Silla fragmented into the brief Later Three Kingdoms, Silla, Hubaekje, and Taebong, handing over power to its successor dynasty Goryeo in 935.
From its founding until its growth into a full-fledged kingdom, Silla was recorded with various hanja phonetically approximating its native Korean name: 斯盧 (사로, Saro), 斯羅 (사라, Sara), 徐那(伐) (서나[벌], Seona[beol]), 徐耶(伐) (서야[벌], Seoya[beol]), 徐羅(伐) (서라[벌], Seora[beol]), and 徐伐 (서벌, Seobeol). In 503, King Jijeung standardized on the characters 新羅(신라), which in Modern Korean is pronounced "Shilla".
Matthias Schulze (born 5 May 1984) better known as Silla (formerly Godsilla) is a German rapper, who had been signed to label I Luv Money Records. In 2010 Schulze changed his pseudonym "Godsilla" to "Silla" to avoid a lawsuit by Toho, the owners of the rights to Godzilla.
2004 he released his first Solo album Übertalentiert. A year later he released an album with King Orgasmus One Schmutzige Euros.
Sillā (Nepal Bhasa: सिल्ला) is the fourth month in the Nepal Era calendar, the national lunar calendar of Nepal. The month corresponds to Magha (माघ) in the Hindu lunar calendar and February in the Gregorian calendar.
Sillā begins with the new moon and the full moon falls on the 15th of the lunar month. The month is divided into the bright and dark fortnights which are known as Sillā Thwa (सिल्ला थ्व) and Sillā Gā (सिल्ला गा) respectively.
The most important festivals during the month are Shree Panchami which falls on the fifth day of the bright fortnight and Maha Shivaratri (Nepal Bhasa: सिला चह्रे Silā Charhe) on the 14th day of the dark fortnight. Shree Panchami is the first day of spring while Shivaratri honors the Hindu deity Shiva. On the full moon day, the month-long Swasthani sacred story reciting festival ends.
In Inuit mythology, Silap Inua ('possessor of spirit', ᓯᓚᑉ ᐃᓄᐊ) or Silla ('breath, spirit', ᓯᓪᓚ) was similar to mana or ether, the primary component of everything that exists; it is also the breath of life and the method of locomotion for any movement or change. Silla was believed to control everything that goes on in one's life.
Silla is a deity of the sky, the wind, and the weather. Though identified as male, he is never depicted, and thought to be formless. There are very few myths in which Silla is a character, because he is not thought to have many personality characteristics. He also represents a concept somewhat akin to the Hindu idea of Paramatman, or Emerson’s idea of the great Over soul: Silla is also believed to be the substance which souls are made of. Contrary to the Christian missionaries who have identified Nanook the polar bear spirit as the supreme deity of the Inuit, Silla is much closer to this role. However Silla also has a somewhat malevolent aspect: he is known to lure children away from their play off into the tundra, never to be seen again.
You just come to sit right down
Sally came to town on a hot summer Saturday night
Looking for a part in a movie called "The House Of Delights"
And everybody said you've got the looks girl but you can't act
There's a place on the boulevard for girls if you know how to dance
So she danced! Like no other
A wild cat ready to strike
When she danced! She wore nothing
But the colors of the hot burning lights
Sally got a break after dancing just a few short years
When a man from the motion picture business said, "You're it my dear."
Now Sally's fame spread and her movies brought the houses on down
A girl from Kansas City, Missouri, went from nothing
To the talk of the town
And she danced! Like no other
A wild cat ready to strike
When she danced! She was something
Godiva, Goddess, Venus of Night
Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah!
Yeah!
Yeah!
Yeah yeah yeah
Sally you've gone farther than most girls ever have
Sally you've got something that could sure enough break a man
Broadway Sally, Golden Girl, burning with a passion
On the screens that you lived
Goodtime Sally, showed the world, nobody did it better
When you stepped into your shoes and danced
Ow! Ow!
Yeah yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Sally soon vanished but the masses will remember her name
'Cause Sally's star shines on the sidewalk of prominent fame
She could dance! Like no other
A wild cat ready to strike
When she danced! She wore nothing
But the colors of the hot burning lights, yeah yeah
She could dance! Like no other
A wild cat ready to strike
When she danced! She was something
Godiva, Goddess, Venus of Night, yeah yeah, yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
yeah
Sally you've gone farther than most girls ever have, woo!
Sally you've got something that could sure enough break a man
Broadway Sally, Golden Girl, burning with a passion
On the screens that you lived
Goodtime Sally, showed the world, nobody did it better
When you stepped into your shoes and danced
No no no no no Sally
Sally
Tears don't stop
Sally
Yeah, that's just the way she is
When she danced, she was gone
My girl Sally
My girl Sally
My heart got tired, Sally
